Honda canada Gymkhana 2012 this Sunday

I was there and stayed through the rain. Got to demo a CBR125 (first time on a non-cruiser frame for me). The event was alright, could have used more vendors, and they focused really heavily on the Gymkahna. It was cool to watch, probably cooler to participate in but the weather really killed...

Ride Report: Toronto to Killarney (a somewhat interesting story)

Glad everything turned out okay. Now I know what to watch for with my Vulcan... didn't realize that like everything else on the bike even the tire/tube replacements are hard to find. Any chance I could find out from your buddy where he got the highway bar?

    Parking on a hill

all wonderful advice when the engine is off. Not so hot if you're just stepping off to adjust something or talk to someone.

    Parking on a hill

Reminder to new riders... It should go without saying but it slipped my mind today and now I have to pay the price. ALWAYS PARK WITH FRONT TIRE UPHILL. The weight of your machine is more than enough to fold up your kickstand on even a small hill. Which sucks for me because I've now dropped my...

    Justifying motorcycling

Perfectly fine for 9 months of the year with the right gear. highflyer, I live in Newmarket. I ride do the toronto waterfront in all conditions save for ice (haven't had to make that choice yet but don't plan on riding in ice). I ride if it's windy, I ride if it's cold. I ride if it's raining...

    Too much front brake

Apparently it's been an issue in Russia recently where pedestrians are intentionally running into traffic to try to force insurance payouts. By forcing the accident, it's fraud in my books. From what I understand the law is not the same as my books at all times, but I believe the intention of...

    Too much front brake

I think what kneedragger was getting at is that he shouldn't have needed to adjust his position. He was in the wrong position to begin with. Still I hope that pedestrian got charged with attempted fraud and negligence causing bodily harm or whatever their equivalent is.

    Contour hd test

Turns out that if the RDF information is correct, then he's 24 and still a dickhead since highschool. My fiancee went to school with him. She has NOT seen the photobucket pics but nailed it that he's a red-head. GUESS WHAT *******: WE KNOW WHO THE **** YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU ****ING LIVE. Now...

    Contour hd test

I wouldn't argue with it. Looks like the driveway is a dead giveaway. Then of course there's the photobucket albums... I got $10 buck that says that handgun is a set of charges on it's own.

    Contour hd test

Granted the personal harm was a little excessive (in hindsight) but it's pretty much what we do to children with the time out from play scenario. Look what you want to do but can't for some outside influence. I suppose his bike could be taken away and barred from driving but.... he didn't care...

    Contour hd test

What's it to me? I have family in that area you dumb ****. That intersection where you almost hit a pedistrian who was crossing with her light was the site of a bad accident that set 3 out of 4 members of my fiancee's family to the hospital including her because someone was driving like a tool...

Anybody know if there is a Ural demo day anywhere in Ontario this summer?

rev if you have time, go to hillsburgh on Reg 25 north of 124. There's a small bike shop just as you come into town who sells Urals, and Royal Enfields. He probably won't let you test one but he'll gladly talk to you about, their prices, advantages etc. Last time I was in there (a couple weeks...

    Riding with a BACKPACK?

Can you walk with a backpack? Yes? Cool, then you shouldn't have any problems riding with it either. There are people though that will tell you not to wear a backpack because it screws up how your body rolls when you hit the ground during a crash... Personally at that point it's a little late...

    counter steering

Ivana, As a fellow vulcan rider I can agree with CB on one thing... You're probably giving the handlebars down force rather than true counter steering. I catch myself doing it all the time. If you do convert to a more horizontal force you'll notice right away that our bikes are actually REALLY...

Boy, it sure is windy today

Eff it... Turn his bike upside down. Maybe he'll get the picture then? Or better yet wait for him to show up to his bike. "Gently" back your bike into his piece of e****. After all... he doesn't have insurance and the damage would be under the minimum reporting requirements. When he starts...

Bout time - nice night for riding

Alex I noticed the same thing last night on my commute home. I ride all weather unless there is the unholy trinity of heavy rain, high wind and cold. I got home last night having ridden cautiously but more or less enjoyed it. I only have one set of gear unfortunately, so to avoid getting a cold...

Riding Standard vs Riding a bike

The course (Humber) teaches you to ride the clutch for moving slowly. In fact you'll probably end up doing an excercise dedicated to just that! I'm still fighting the instinct to get off the clutch as fast as possible but it get's a little better everyday.
