    Commuting today? 11/17

Went to bed last night, committed to taking TTC..woke up this morning and said screw it, and rode in. Saw one other bike on the Gardiner. Wasn't too bad other than my fingers freezing. Saw it was only 20% chance of precipitation so figured it was worth a shot. Hopefully by quitting time it's...

I can see why people like Gixxers

Seller had 2 other track bikes and only did it to his street bike as that's what he was used to.

I can see why people like Gixxers

2008 with 20k kms. Lots of mods. Took it to get safetied today and needs a lil work but nothing I wasn't aware of. Would have helped if the seller told me he reversed the gear shift to be 1 up and 5 down. Took some getting used to! And goood lord these gixxers kick ***. They just hug the...

New rider in Markham looking for buddy to practise with before season is over

I actually sold my GS500F to a woman who's very close by to you. I emailed her a link to this thread so you may have a riding buddy there.

I can see why people like Gixxers

I call it Orange, but ya, the bike is sweet looking. I stumbled upon this one by accident, was actually looking for a new cage, got bored, went to the bike section on kijiji and for whatever reason, sorted by the colour orange and this came up. Now for the funny/clearly immature part... Saw...

I can see why people like Gixxers

Funny, SF gave me a price that was the exact same as what I'm paying with Jevco on my 2005GS500, though I have my home with them and I'm over 35. If I get a car and insure it with them, it'll end up being $20/month less than what Jevco wanted.

I can see why people like Gixxers

This thread warms my heart. Why? I just dropped off a cheque for a 2008 GSXR750..the sexy copper/orange colour. Time for an entire winter of sitting on it in my garage making "vroom vroom" sounds!

6 AM and its 11 degrees, going up to 16....

I ran into a few rain drops on the Gardiner around 7:20am or so, but not enough to thwart me, and the temperature was great, lined jacket, regular riding gloves and dress pants/shoes and I wasn't cold at all. Didn't hurt that the Eastbound Gardiner was a parking lot. As long as it's not...

What's The Craziest Thing You've Ever Done On A Motorcycle?

Commuted every day almost in a city filled with maniac cab drivers and self-entitled cagers.

    Why did you start?

My dad always had street bikes and at 12, my brother and I scrapped together from our paper route and bought a brand new, 1982 Suzuki DR100. Lived in a rural area so could "push" it a few hundred metres to places to ride. Eventually sold it and I bought an RM80, then an RM125. Used to ride a...

What's Your Temperature Cut-Off For Riding?

I debated (not very long) about not riding in today, but did anyways. Only saw one other bike on the Gardiner, and about a quarter of the bikes normally parked on Albert St. Sad.

Still commuting? How long will you commute until?

Oh it started raining as soon as I hit the Gardiner, but it wasn't too bad. Bit embarrassing walking into the office with just the upper part of my legs wet..but everyone else either drove or rode TTC to work..so I win!

Still commuting? How long will you commute until?

Yup..rode in this morning along the Gardiner, from Jane/Bloor to Bay/Queen. Dress pants got a lil wet, but traffic wasn't moving at all so it didn't get too cold. I just had my dress pants/dress shoes, and my mesh jacket with the inner lining in, along with gloves and it wasn't too bad. I'll...

What's Your Temperature Cut-Off For Riding?

I should have left the bike at home this morning. Was a bit cold, but as soon as I hit the gardiner it started raining and my dress clothes got a wee bit wet. The gardiner was also slow as molasses from South Kingsway to Spadina. Still better than the subway.

    something that ****** me off!!!

Heh..try coming off the Gardiner and up Bay St. in the mornings. It goes down to one lane due to construction. Most people dutifully line up well in advance of the merging lanes so things go smoothly...except for cabs and most times fancy cars. I had one guy in a Volvo SUV decide he was going...
