Another quick update. I was waiting on some back-ordered engine parts that finally arrived last week. Unfortunately the "complete" piston kit is missing two rings, so the wait continues.
In the meantime I got the bike mostly disassembled for cleaning. Now to remove years of caked on gunk...

For the price I'm pleased. It chewed through the heavier stuff left behind by the plows without issue.
That's something interesting to think about. As it sits, the premium difference between a $500 and $1000 deductible is negligible. But I doubt there would be much demand for that structure because most people could not afford the risk.
