You are correct. Though I did not assume; that would be presumptuous. As for your comment about Hamilton, not sure what that implies. And it doesn't matter. As a 'Hamiltonian', and a person who rides a motorcycle, I proudly put that sticker on my own car window.
And based on the mentality and attitudes of many people on this forum, that's exactly the type of response one would expect.
Oh the irony if this person, while driving a car with the yellow 'watch out for motorcycles' sticker, collides with a motorcycle...
I was heading west on Mohawk Road (Hamilton) this evening at around 8:45. A white car flew by me from the right side and cut in front of me. I flashed my high beams. That is when I noticed the yellow 'watch out for motorcycles' sticker in the top left corner of the back window. I have one in...
Exactly. Thought I was alone in this thinking. Some of the riders on here must be absolutely perfect drivers when they're in their 'cage'. I'm waiting for the day when one of these riders, while in their car, is involved in an accident involving a motorcycle. Should be interesting reading...
This is a tragedy. Condolences to family and friends.
I drive a car and I ride a motorcycle. As a rider, I believe I'm in the minority as I do not ride believing that drivers are 'out to kill me'. As a driver, I am now more aware of motorcycles, but only because I ride one and know other...
Absolutely! So sad to see people just 'jumping on this bandwagon' :( If 'challenged', I wouldn't do the bucket dump. However, if I feel to donate to any cause, I will.
I don't have a problem donating to a cause when 100% of the donations goes to said cause/family/etc. But, it's unfortunate that the generosity of people gets taken advantage of. The last time I was in Las Vegas, there was a guy with a sign that clearly said he wanted money to buy...
Thanks Matt and also for posting the video! At 0:22 shows the situation I found myself in. Pretend the vehicle in front of you is me on my bike (750 Honda Shadow). The blue car, instead of making that turn, proceeded across my path, into that gravel area on right of the frame. Yes, that...
To be honest, the incident happened so quickly. Once my bike was up and I was able to get it into neutral, my focus then became getting back up the hill, without stopping lol Will I go to the Forks again? Probably. It was a lovely ride there.
Thanks Kiwi. What can I say? I'm a 50+ y.o. female. I'll leave that kind of confrontation to some of the young ones on this forum. It's just not my style :)
As i said, it never even crossed my mind to call the police. I was fine; my bike was fine. There had been no physical contact between my bike and the car. It was more unnerving than anything. I was going pretty slow, so my bike just kind of went over.
Thanks, Roomie. That's what I wasn't prepared for; a car turning there. Once my bike was back up, I looked over at the car. The driver was just standing there, on his phone. Didn't even come over :( Oh well. It never even crossed my mind to call the police. Again, I'm just very grateful to...
I called it a 'car park' for lack of a better description. (I did add a '?'). All I know is the car pulled in there. The area appears to lead to a path (?).
Yes, dodged a major bullet :( I take full responsibility for what happened today. I was (too) focused on making that hair pin turn. And, I must be missing something...nothing 'flirtatious' about your post. What I took from your post was the reminder that I always need to be aware. Thanks!
