You have a DRZ I figure. You can get a Honda flat washer to work. And then just re-use that forever. It is covered on another "thumper"
forum.

The tires was a decent hint; of mileage is low enough check the date code stamped on them. Also a low mileage bike is not usually ridden in foul weather so it should be really clean in the hard to reach place; cylinder head, under tank, etc.

I feel the same; I think the important thing is to learn the limits, so you know what they are and what they feel like. Saying a chicken strip shows margin is true if you know how to use the remaining tire; which I assume myself and the OP don't. I bought Lee Parks book and learned a bit from...
Yes, I agree with Scuba Steve. Definitely moisture (water) in the oil. The only positive spin I could put on this is maybe a 2013 with original oil. Possibly the oil has picked up moisture over the years. Either way a 2013 with only 4K needs some love, all fluids would need to be changed, etc...
I have found that when it is this type of thing it is difficult to convince a shop of the problem. Generally I do not believe this to be malicious just difficult for them as they don't have the prior frame of reference you have.

I am assuming the bike is still lean, on your second ride was the outside air cooler? I would tape over a percentage of your air box opening and see what you experience, if you are close to correct a/f this should help you determine what is happening. If lean more coverage should rich richen up...
I think you are not seeing the shifter end as it matches his boot. The upshifts are definitely with the shifter on top of the boot...

I agree with the post above; but must admit at first I was a little confused as I thought the grey tube in the foreground was part of the shifter. Then I realized it was just the view.

Looks like it was running real lean to me.
Are you saying the motor ran the last time it was used? Does it still have compression? If so check for spark, clean carb, clean plug, clean air filter, put fresh gas in and start.

Depending on where you are and what you ride, I may be able to help. I am 5 tires into my tire changing experience...

I think we are seeing the realities of the very competitive low cc market. I can only imagine the push for aggressive cost reductions to gain margins. Either way; Engineers are humans and they make mistakes, so are parts suppliers and assemblers. I think what matters most here is that you have a...
In the video they suggest various tires and brands. As far as used tires, I am not sure where you would go for those unless you know someone who has a dual sport bike. My guess is buy the cheapest thing you can find. Maybe Shinko makes something; I have the Ravens on my versys and am converted...
A sportsman sumo setup is related to just changing the tires over from knobbies to a more street oriented tire. It's the least expensive way to try sumo out when starting from a mx bike.

Have you checked that you have a good seal on your carb boots? I would have initially guessed you number 4 was sucking air. Typically tested by spraying boots while running to see if idle changes occur.

Just inquiring regarding; exhaust colours and potentially related problems.
My understanding was;
Blackish - likely rich fuel mixture
White - antifreeze burning; head gasket, or worse.
Blueish - rings
Is this accurate?

I am not familiar with the bike. I would however see if you can feel any play in the front wheel bearings if it is cable driven from the front wheel. At times these failure happen as the bearings start to wear out.
Once again don't know that particular bike well, but would have a look at wheel...
