Are there any restrictions on the kind of bike you can/cannot take on a track? Like would one need to specially rent a sport bike?

I want to ride on a track. Never done that! And there, I want to improve on braking and trailing off through corners over, and over again. Practicing in a controlled environment is what I am looking towards. It gets impractical on public roads.
