Na you can view other people's routes on the map even with with location services turned off on your phone. On Android anyways. I hate that **** too lol don't want anyone knowing where I am ;)

You don't need GPS on to view the routes, only to record your own.

In my opinion, no, street experience doesn't really matter, you'll learn a ton taking a track course. I'm also taking the May course with a co-worker, should be awesome there's a bunch from GTAM going
