If you payed with PayPal you can file an "item not as described" claim. You're still going to have to pay to ship it somewhere, but it's better than eating everything. I would expect that your tach is electronic. Usually it's the speedo that might not be, as it can be a cable running to the front wheel. Do you have a wiring diagram? I bought the exact same one but under another title for my R6. My problem was that there aren't different speed and tach wires...

My guess would be the temperature sensor is for the rad fans, and possibly to kill the bike if it's overheating to the point the engine is going to be damaged. I'm not sure though. I had a quick look for the service manual and gave up after 30 seconds.

Some news today. Pulled the trigger on some good condition used forks. Chatted with the guy on the phone to make sure he's not a Nigerian prince and he seems legit. He's going to ship them over the next few days so hopefully I'll be back in action around this time next week at the latest.
