Wow.
As soon as I see "testing the waters" or "throwing out feelers", I stop reading. It translates to "I'm acting hard to convince you this bike is so amazing that I don't really want to sell it." If it wasn't for sale, it wouldn't be in the for sale section.
Guy spent 8k+ on a bike that...
I accidentally smashed my tail light and ended up replacing it with an integrated one from motodynamic. It came with some resistors to prevent hyperflashing, but I already have an electronic flasher so they're unnecessary. They're together in a single unit, and look exactly like the photo except...
Re: Spinal protection/injuries
Pain is temporary and a lot of guys think it makes for a cool story and makes them sound tough.
The scarring is permanent, but again a lot of guys think it's a cool story and makes them seem tough.
Nerve damage is what people often forget about. How cool are you...
Call every single insurance company and broker you can find. You never know who will give you best rate until you have tried them all. There are too many variables and everyone is different.
It will only cost you time, and you could end up saving hundreds or thousands of dollars. It takes a lot...
If you can afford it, cash is a better way to go. Financing isn't free, and can cost a lot of money. That's why all the dealerships are so happy to give to to people; they make a lot of money doing it. If you do the math for what a bike will actually cost you over the entire length of payments...
NP. There are lots of good products but you don't need much to do it on the cheap. I only do it around once a year so I can't justify buying anything fancy. A few bucks on that clear hose is really all you need. I punched a hole in an old water bottle and ran the the other end in there so it'll...
2000 R1, asking $2,200. Doesn't quite make it to the cheap insurance age, but most guys are asking $3k+

Yep, pretty much. It seems most guys that buy fairing kits are fixing up bikes they already own and have crashed. If you're factoring the cost of fairings into a bike before you've even bought it, it will have to be a really good deal. A lot of the time you could just take the money you're going...
No.
OEM are genuine fairings that were made by the manufacturer. They're going to come in whatever colours were available for the years they made your generation of bike. Buying a new set will probably cost more than your bike is worth, and that don't always include decals. If you just need one...
Nice. I've been thinking about a thread like this. There are some that don't quite qualify for stupidly overpriced, but are clearly created by mouth breathers.
This one has been up for at least a year. I remember seeing it late fall 2013. I think his price has come down a bit...
I believe the dollar store sells little rubber touchscreen styluses on a piece of string. They're meant to tie onto a phone case.
I was thinking about rigging up something with one of them, then I realized my gloves work with the touch screen as is, even through the rain proof case.
I wouldn't say its "so important" to me, but when I see a guy advertising insurance and he can't even spell it properly, it makes me curious as to who he is and what the hell he's thinking.
