Just saw a rider down and not moving at all, around 7:30 am. Didn't look good at all, front part of the bike looked like it did a 180 but the bike itself wasn't completely smashed up. Here's to hoping he just got knocked out. Was a black matte sportbike, most likely a duc 1098 from what I could...

    Newb Question Regarding Motorcycle Stands

I wouldn't trust my bike on a cheap stand if I left it outside for a prolonged period of time. Inside a garage or shed maybe. Swingarm stands are good, its my first season with them but not sure how much more difficult it'd be to pull out the tire with it

    New To Riding...A Few Questions

RTI is great, I did my course with them and one of my friend started working with them as an instructor and loves it. They are also not-for-profit. Fairly rigorous interviewing process for getting hired. RTI has a variety of bikes, CBR125, a few 150ccs, I do think they have a few dirt bikes...

    Close call (Video)

That's not a blind spot, the car should have easily seen him in his side mirrors. You're not supposed to just glance at your side mirror and then blindly change lanes. You keep checking as you complete it, just like you would continue to look through an intersection as you make a left through a...

    Biker Favourite Things

Even just seeing other riders and giving the wave does it for me. OR when someone pats their helmet passing you by. Summoning your superhuman strength when you almost drop your bike but pull it back up. Feeling comfortable in your gear even when its above 20 and you're covered head to toe...

Heated grips or heated pads under grips?

Oxford heated grips. Tyler @ twowheel can hook you up for like $75? They are amazing, wire into your lights and they will turn on/off auto with ignition. Heated gloves are great too, the problem being you don't always expect the weather to get col...heated grips are always on your bike and can...

Left Hand Turner - Lesson Learned

Never pass a vehicle (especially a large one like a bus) at an intersection at speed. I come across this all the time going along ninth line (single lane), you never know if a car has creeped up to the intersection when you weren't looking/couldn't see. Slow down and always be ready to brake in...

    2006 gsxr600 electrical problem!!!

Any other extra electricals hooked up? Disconnect everything and start from there. Could have a wire shorting or something from an accessory. Check corrosion in the contacts. I could never get the R/R test to work properly as per the service manual. However you can manually monitor your...

    Bike parts

What kind of parts and accessories are you talking about? Bluestreakracing.ca is pretty good for some race accessories TwoWheelMotorsports (speak with Tyler) has been great with parts and small accessories in Guelph but they ship for a decent price I've gone to Glen at Flying Squirrel for...

    parking insurance

My girlfriend did this when she wasn't sure if she was going to sell her bike. When she put her bike back onto regular insurance, they just backcharged her a few hundred dollars for the winter months she had it on fire/theft. Was with State Farm.

    12 v USB power?

Dang Jayell, that's not bad. I prefer to have a waterproof casing on the end though because I store my bike outside.

    12 v USB power?

I used the hot wire as well on my bike for my heated grips. Also less cabling to route. The battery pack is pretty handy, but you'll have to charge that too and take it off the bike. It's a lot less headache to just have the charger setup. Where would you put the portable battery anyway, short...

    12 v USB power?

You can buy a 12V -> USB power (waterproof) for like $10 on ebay. It shouldn't be active if nothing is plugged in but you can splice it into your ignition wiring, or your running lights, etc. However, you may find it nice to be able to charge something on your bike when it is off (like if...

    Exhaust pipe blown off!!!

You might get some weird mileage but otherwise unless your bike is two-stroke it won't affect much. It will however attract cops which will give you a ticket for sure. Lots of OEM exhausts for cheap. It looks like your connection needs some cleaning up too though the pipe connecting to the...

    They Drive Among Us

I enjoy getting through traffic as much as the next guy, but this weekend I almost took out someone on an SS (i was in the cage) he was behind me, not looking to pass, but as soon as I went aroudn the other car, he tried to pass on the opposite side (which was illegal in the left lane of the...

Why your next bike might be electric...

The problem with the battery issue is that you would have to have a monopoly on making those batteries (which you can't have without some kind of interlock system). What's to stop someone from making cheap batteries, going to a station and swapping it with an OEM one?
