Biker assaulted my friend's dad in Heartland

Thanks guys! I believe even LSM scooters in Ontario need plates right? This guy didn't have any plate on his Ruckus. At the last hopefully one day he'll get nailed for no insurance/plate.

Biker assaulted my friend's dad in Heartland

Hey guys, This weekend at the Heartland plaza some guy stole my friend's dad's parking spot (he's like a small 60+ year old indian guy) and when he honked him, he started cursing and using racial slurs. The dad couldn't really hear so he got out of his car (not the best idea but he was in no...

    Reducing Risk and Common Mistakes

Be relaxed and grip the bike tank with your legs and core, don’t strangle the handlebars. Go take a motorcycle course. Riding defensively isimportant. Where you should be placed in the lane relative to other cars, making eye contact, being visible, not affording cars the opportunities to...

    GSX-R or SV650

I had my GSXR In a condo in Brampton, lived there for a year and didn't get stolen lol. I parked it next to the stairwell lol

    GSX-R or SV650

In terms of bikes being stolen, I hardly think a thief would think twice about stealing a 2007 GSXR (maybe I'm biased, that's what I ride). In my opinion you should go for the SV. For a year you’relooking at an extra $1,800 (insurance difference + buying price difference). Idon’t think that’s...

    Daily riding with One Piece

One piece suits give you a diaper when you're standing up. They're also very snug, so you'd never be able to ride ANYWHERE without a change of clothes, like to a friend's house for example. Also one piece suits are not conducive to backpacks, especially those with speed humps. So you'd have to...

    Introductions, from Toronto

Welcome! Fellow GSXR600 rider here. Comfy bike. What year isyours? On a side note, you say you’re a classical musician –makesure you wear ear plugs on all your rides. Trust me, you’ll want to especiallyif you get an aftermarket exhaust (stock on my K7 was pretty quiet).

    New rider gear opinion

Kijiji and GTAM classifieds are really good. Great deals tobe had if you’re patient and persistent. With crappy CAD, online shopping is pretty much dead to me. I’llcheck out local stores for helmets but majority of my excess gear comes fromfellow riders.

    Helmet Shopping

My advice is to just buy less expensive gear first for a fewreasons: Since you haven’t been riding a lot, you don’treally know what you want in your gear and what matters to you – weight forlong rides? Sun visor? Venting? Noise? Looks (that may change on your othergear)? Comfort after...

Weird noise when kill switch turns on

I'll assume the servo flap is open, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to ride (since exhaust gases will remain largely in the cylinder and not be evacuated properly?) so removing the cables - de-powering it so no clicking and no FI light? Removal of the SET valve itself not necessary (unless...

Weird noise when kill switch turns on

Thanks guys, initially I thought it sounded like a servo but wasn't sure where there were servos on the bike. I'll try to adjust the cables and fiddle with it this weekend!

Weird noise when kill switch turns on

K7 GSXR600 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBvSodKusIU&feature=youtu.be This has been happening for at least a year or two. What do you guys think it is? I tried disconnecting all my electrical stuff, still makes the noise (alarm, LED light, heated grips). I have a MOSFET R/R but this was...

    New rider gear opinion

Yes! good point. If you can, get a good backpack or tail/tank bag so you cantake out your jacket liner for the ride home. I have a Kriega backpack, and they really are awesome. I keep a pair of shoes at work so I can wear my boots on thecommute. That’s a very short commute lol, you’re...

    New rider gear opinion

There's nothing you can do in stop-and-go traffic except open your visor and hope your bike doesn't overheat. Are you planning to commute with your bike, and you have to go through traffic? To be honest, in traffic I would much rather drive my car than my bike. Air conditioning, music, and your...

'Renting' out the bike to a friend

Fortunately I just renewed my driver's license this year, and I'm getting my M before I leave through RTI (since the MTO might not be open early enough before I leave)! Thanks for the warning! I guess I'll just have to see what SF can offer before I cancel...

No Charges Warranted in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Alliston Case Number: 15-PVD-126

It’s so difficult. We say everything is fine, but I’m sure this scenariorepeats but instead the driver/rider kills a pedestrian or anotherdriver/rider. Then you wouldn’t be so quick to say “it’s all good, he had tolearn a lesson the hard way”. What about the innocent person they killed...

'Renting' out the bike to a friend

My current broker told me that I wouldn’t get dinged if I didn’town a bike..can anyone confirm this? If so I could transfer the bike to my dad who doesn’t ride…sowouldn’t affect him in any way, then transfer it back into my ownership when Ireturn and shouldn’t be any problems right?

'Renting' out the bike to a friend

Thanks for all the replies guys. Just a few points to make: SS insurance just skyrocketed so my friend can’teven afford the insurance for it anyways now You can no longer suspend bikes on Fire &Theft (at least at State Farm) So looks like I’ll just ride until my renewal in May...
