Ducati Island at Indy is a great place to watch the race. You get to see turns 1,2, and 3. plus its at the exit of the pits.

You should look at heading to the snake instead. Less traffic, almost none and a nicer area to ride.

+1 on Beartooth pass and Yellowstone. I would add Mount Rushmore and Badlands National park to that list. THere is some nice riding in the Black Hills of SD. I've done that trip a few times, it doesn't get old.

Ducati ST2, ST3, or ST4 sportiest of the sport tourers, but I'm bias :) You'll have to find a used one. they stopped producing the ST line in 2007. Insurance is in the $750 range for full coverage.

You should try 421 " The Snake" Less traffic and in my opinion, a nicer road. The added bonus is there are tons of great roads in the area. http://www.421thesnake.com

I had similar thoughts until a family member needed a kidney. I'm signed up for donation, they can have everything minus 1 kidney, that one has already been donated.
