+1 on both suggestions! Add The Who's Quadrophenia to the list as well! The Roger Water solo albums are great Prog rock concepts too. Umphreys McGee for a more modern take, but the live albums are the best.

The basics? Plumbing basics (change a washer in a dripping faucet, swap out a toilet), and electrical basics (where's the breaker box, dimmer switch installation, etc), Minor carpentry (picture hanging, install a lockset). But if you're not comfortable with simple hand tools, let someone else do...

I have an old Optimate 3, and the connector looks like none of those. Are they directly attached to the battery?
