    Semi retired lifestyles

I think in this day and age a university education is overrated. There are too many university grads with a useless degree, who would have been better off learning a trade. Being an unemployed university grad doesn’t get you any money. Being an unemployed plumber or electrician gives you many...

    magats take over congress

I have my doubts that you can rely on pretty much anything the MSM in the U.S. reports, and that applies to Canada as well.

    No Harley Bikes here ..?

I find your post interesting. I’m a sport bike rider and have never owned a cruiser. But I’ve always said the same as yourself, except from the other point of view, it’s much easier learning on a light bike that handles than on a a cruiser that doesnt.

Is my tire still safe to use?

The tire looks fine. Stick your nail in when it’s hot. If it feels soft don’t worry about it. If it feels hard, change them. You’re obviously not an aggressive rider, so those tires will be fine for your type of riding.

Guess you've sold the H2. Would like to have known what you did to it in regard to accessories and parts.

    Pre-aged tires

The age of a tire is always somewhat of a concern. But it really depends on how it is stored and what the intended use is when installed. I spoke to a Dunlop rep. about some brand new 8 year old tires. I told him they had been stored in the dark since I had them. He said he wouldn't advise...

    Plasti-dipping my bike, color suggestions?

Canadian Tire sell plasti-dip for around $24 a can. Walmart in the U.S. sell it for $5.80 U.S. a can. Even with then exchange rate that's about 1/3 the price of Canadian Tire. Well worth a drive to the U.S. While you're there you can pick up oil, filters for your bike and save a substantial...

    Loud pipes? Grow up!

I agree that bike riders with loud pipes who unnecessarily rev their bikes to garner attention are the cause of many people being anti-bike. The consolation is that most of them will suffer permanent hearing loss as they get older. Now that makes it all right in my book.

    Clares Motorcycle service rant

I have experience of Clares mechanics expertise. I took a bike in to be certified. They told me it needed a front tire on it because it was old. There weren't any cracks on the tire, and it had plenty of tread. No problem I said, I just happen to have a brand new one for it in my car. They...

    Too old to ride?

Thought I was being assertive, but I guess from rereading my post it could be interpreted as ****** off. Just trying to make a point. Come the day I "know" that I shouldn't be riding a full out sports bike because I no longer have what it takes to do so, then I'll quit riding them. Not...

    Too old to ride?

I'm on my 3rd GSXR1000, and I won't see 59 again. What strain is there in riding a sport bike if you modify it? I have Heli bars and slightly lowered pegs. When I was 52 I rode 1500 k in one day on a stock GSXR1000 and have routinely ridden 500 k days without a problem. Tell me, do you think...

    Airport road

Why do you ride in the "left tire track?" Why don't you ride in the centre of your lane? And please don't tell me it's because of the oil that's dropped by cars. For the life of me, and I have been riding a lot of years, I can't understand why anyone in their right mind, rides anywhere near...

    Biker wanted by police

This guy was a criminal and a moron! Even taking into account speedo error he was doing at times, 180 k. more than the traffic he was overtaking. What do you think would have happened to you, if you had been on that stretch of highway doing 100 k. and he had plowed into your rear at 280 k...

    Honda CBR 125 2008/2010?

I realise that you were in the slow group Brian, but those guys were really slow. Just think what you could have done with a CBR250. If you rode your ZX10 you would have lost them in the first corner, but then again, what fun would that be, lol.

Tire changing: How much is too much?

He's just jerking your chain for his own amusement. I didn't feel that you were being angry. That guy was ripping you off. It is tough to find somewhere in the Niagara Falls area to work on a bike. I don't recommend Clares, unless you can get their chief mechanic to work on your bike. The...
