"Will start and runs". What is the "translatation" for that ? (Needs every part replaced ?)

Passed M1 Exit Exam at Humber North

Congrats ! If you'd like to describe the tests and training that would be great ! I'm curious about how many "exercises" / lessons there were, and how much practice riding time you got. Some of the schools offer the course spread over more than just two days, so I'd like to get an idea if...

    Two Menaces

From another motorcycle forum : I live in Florida, where we have two principal menaces: 16-year-olds going 100 and 100-year-olds going 16.

    Intro course

Ok, my apologies :) Thanks for the explanation. And I wouldn't really call that a "trick". From what you describe, I've seen it in many books and videos and I would label it as a "standard low speed technique" :) Mike

    Intro course

Was this the course at Centennial ? Buying a bicycle first, might not be a bad idea. Practicing very low speed (just barely moving) balancing on a light bicycle that you can drop / easily recover from, will be great balance practice. Sure, a motorcycle's much heavier, but it's the same...

    Renting for Full M Test

DL ? = Car Driving License ? Or did you mean M2 ?

First day on a motorcycle. Wow - why didn't I do this sooner?

That to me is unacceptable. Regardless of how (understandably) beat up in appearance the bike's are, they should all be mechanically A1 for a training environment. As someone who is in the market for a M1-exit course, that is a big "strike" against RTI on my "scorecard". Again unacceptable...

    What is course "completion" ?

There are a couple threads here, about student's taking one of the two day M1 exit courses, but not passing the test. For those insurance companies that take the M1-exit course into consideration when determining rates (the list of which is worthy of a thread in itself !), does passing the...

First day on a motorcycle. Wow - why didn't I do this sooner?

If your rate is not going to be significantly different between an M1 or M2 + course I'd say that's worth looking into. And that raises an interesting question. Does passing the test signify "course completion" ? Or is passing the test a seperate "entity" from "completing the course"...

First day on a motorcycle. Wow - why didn't I do this sooner?

Did you stall it shifting into / out of second ? What's stopping you from getting insurance ? End of season ? Where are you storing the bike in the winter ? If it's somewhere where you're going to want theft / vandalism insurance, might as well get the insurance. Otherwise, you might...

First day on a motorcycle. Wow - why didn't I do this sooner?

Bummer. So 2 stalls is a failure ? Did you stall it "starting off the line", or while already moving ? Have you gotten ins quotes for M1 vs M2 ? Wherever you have the bike parked now, you could at least practice friction zone starting without "driving anywhere". Just rocking it back and...

M1 Exit test - Is this cause for a fail ?

Do the student's in your course get any written information on the tests ? Mike

M1 Exit test - Is this cause for a fail ?

Bagel, When did you take your training ? And what school was it ? While it may be unfair to judge the entire school by a "couple of bad apples", it's equally unfair to prospective students if those instructors are still there, to "protect" that school. How did the two students low slide ...

Aviation "Squiddy" - 172 Stunt Flying over Richmond Hill

Air regulations are : minimum altitude over a "built up area" is 1,000 feet AGL (above the ground) unless taking off or landing. Over the street, that guy was a couple hundred feet at most. Engine failures are rare, but they do happen. Engine-out, a C172 drops "like a rock" (~700 f.p.m.)...
