Ok, so that only reinforces my thoughts even more. Could the cop have got the licence or was it a high speed chase for 4 km's? Were the lights on for the chase or not?
Something smells.:confused1:
Ok, your right about not being too far to see the plate but too close to stop traffic.
But at least he would have seen who hit her or know how many ran over her first. Maybe he was so far back when she fell off and all the other cars on the road weren't slowing down even though the cop had...
That's my point! When did he flip on the lights? Why didn't he get the licence # first if he was close? If he was back too far to see the plate, he would have been able to stop traffic before she got hit. How did he get past her then and not know how many vehicles hit her? Then how did the only...
The rider should have stopped. The rider shouldn't have been going so fast (especially with a passenger) that he was afraid to stop for fear of a 172. Very irresponsible with a tragic ending.
We need police. I want them in my community. I have done 16K this summer so far and 23K last year...
True, the rider is at fault for taking off, but I think if the cop handled the situation differently, she would still be alive. After all, he is supposed to be the one that can make the good decisions. High speed night chases for a simple HTA offence doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Sounds...
There never was another 'car' involved in the story. Of course he does what he did, stop to help the girl. But at that speed the stopping distance is quite a way, so by the time he goes back, well, we all know what it looked like.
Cops are aggressive, they have to be for parts of their job. Sadly in the past few years the HTA has become the biggest source of revenue and most cops spend their time gathering funds. With the new rules if you get pulled over, the cop can take your ride and your licence without really having...
My personal thoughts...
I think the cop seen a bike speeding a bit and decided to pull him over. The rider made a stupid decision and took off.
The officer chased.
The officer wants this biker really bad and engages in aggressively chasing.
Chased him at speeds the officer isn't trained to...
Thanks Red Z for an awesome ride. We hit all the good roads, kept a nice pace, stopped enough times for a drink and a break, loved the swim and bikini watching.
Short of making a 700+ km ride to Muskoka or Calabogie, that was the best 'group' ride I have joined in on. Excellent choice...
-Licensed rider
-Insured bike
-Clean driving record
The police speed measuring devices are less than accurate. At the SBR radar run this year my friend did the first run at 232, and the second run she said was faster but it came with a reading of 186.
The police have immunity from the law...
If there is enough people that want it at a different time, we could reschedule, but this weekend is nice and the weather could be questionable from now on.
BUSA REUNION!!!
There seems to be interest for Busa owners to gather together to share Busa tech talk and go for a ride (Muskoka).
Where: Service Station on 400 North of Teston Rd (somewhere around km39)...
You guys usually meet around 10? When do you leave?
I have a group ride posted for KW/Guelph at 10 am, but I am not sure how many are coming. Would you guys be interested in joining groups?
I imagine I can show you some roads you don't know of? ;)
I plan on leaving at 10:15 and could be...
