The issue that I have with cameras is that it is the type of thing that Hitler and his buddies would have instituted. Kinda makes fighting in two world wars a waste of time.
Plus, the cameras are not there to reduce speed and save lives, the governments don't give a damn about that. The cameras...
You might be a poor college student but you bought rich man's tires. You can get tires with harder compounds in the centre of the tread and softer rubber on the sides. They should last longer.
WRT riding on those... You think you're poor now? Wait until you see how much an accident will cost...
I bought a 1998 Honda VFR this summer and the guy i bought it from had installed a Micron carbon fibre slip-on. It is engraved on the end cap that it is for off-road use only. If a cop stops you and notices that ...
Plus, I leave for work at 6 a.m.
I was lucky to get a stock can for $80.
Now I'm...
Theoretically it is not good. You are supposed to have liability insurance when riding on the trail and good luck getting that for your kid. I've had good luck at Ganaraska in that you pay your $20 for the day and they don't ask for ownership or insurance at the shop but I've heard stories of...
Wasn't there a scene in On Any Sunday with a desert racer who had a rug on his tank and the dog dug his nails into the tank to hang on. He had the same goggles too.
The "personalization" thing I can understand a bit but when you start messing with the engine, exhaust etc. to "improve" performance then I suspect that you've bought the wrong bike. If you buy a 600 and spend to "upgrade" it then maybe you should have bought a 750 or 1000.
You want to be careful with what you buy. If you want to ride around Caledon, Belfountain, Forks of the Credit area you may want to stick with the stock exhaust.
I had bought a used VFR that had a Micron carbon fibre on it and at the end of the can it actually has something like "Not For Road...
I bought a 1998 VFR and on doing research it seems that they can get well over 100,000 kms on them. You don't mention how many are on the one you are looking at. You might have to get the valve shims adjusted so check prices on that job. I only kept it for a month because I didn't like the...
It seems that all of the 600 - 650 cc bikes have very similar torque figures - 45 ft-lbs +/-. However the horsepower numbers vary quit a bit.
If i have two bikes with the same weight and gearing and the same torque would they have similar roll-on power. From 100 - 120 kph would they give the...
Be careful with what you put in a backpack. A guy in my brother's old neighbourhood had some cans of pop in his backpack and he wiped out. Broke his back and became a parapalegic. Needless to say, I use a tankbag.
I was thinking of buying a used bike from a dealer and now thanks to a few of the posts in this thread I know what to watch for from the sales people. And if I like what I see if i go to GP Bikes I'll know beforehand that the waranty is only for the powertrain and I'll negotiate accordingly. Thanks.
I just posted my 1998 VFR800 for sale in the 1996-1999 part of the Motorcycles for Sale forum.
(Not to hijack the thread but a couple of people mentioned upgrading.)
I bought a 1998 VFR800 about a month ago and I've only put a 1000 kms on it but how do you keep your licence? This thing wants to go 50 kph over the speed limit all of the time. If you're not doing 150 on the highway or 120 in a 70 zone then it seems like it is just another bike. Doing 20 - 30...
I bought a 1998 a few weeks ago. 47,000 kms. I don't know if I'll have time to join a ride in the next few weeks but I'd certainly like to see what other riders are wearing for boots. My right calf gets so "warm" that I need a high boot that won't absorb heat and fry my leg. Any suggestions...
