It sounds like an inside job. I don't know why Rogers is dragging their heels on it when by your description of events, it's obvious something is going on there.

You're "white knuckling" or death gripping the bars. It's typical amongst new riders, and I did the same. Result: sore shoulders, mid back pain and sometimes neck.

I HATE Rogers. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I totally empathize and have had LOTS of weird issues with them. :(

Oil change, park it, throw an old sheet over it. That's all I do. Never had an issue. Don't use Sta-Bil or anything like that. Don't put the bike on stands, etc., etc. DON'T run it for kicks and giggles! Charge the battery in the bike in the Spring, check my tire pressures, lube the chain, and...

Considering Canada is very low on the global list for gendered pay equity (women still make only 73% of what men do with the same education, work experience, etc)., I personally welcome the 1/2 price bike show admission. Heck, I will shave my legs for that! :P

Looks like a wet weekend. I have a set of Nexo rain gear to go over leathers, if anyone wants to borrow it. It's a men's sized small, if any of the ladies or smaller men want to use it. Just pop by the beige/green old skool RV for it.

We bought a little GIO dirt bike as a pit bike and it's been ok. It's certainly not a refined machine, but it suits its purpose and would be fine as a little starter bike for your friend's son. You can get them pretty cheap used, and parts are readily available.

Under Armour Cold Gear is awesome. I've tried the Helly Hansen variety and it wasn't nearly as good. Layer, layer, layer as well. Works to trap heat. I've found that the thin, cold-rated North Face polar fleece tops with the zip-up turtle neck are fabulous for layering over the Under Armour...

I've ridden until the end of November before. But without heated grips, it was getting painful on the hands.
