Riding Jeans with CE armor and hip protection?

I agree with you. My point is that the butt and back is often overlooked when it comes to protection and in so many cases downed riders end up landing on and sliding on those areas. Perhaps your knee or hip may take the initial impact, but the slide is where all the rash injury occurs. E.g., a...

    Cheap Helmet: Is It OK?

This brings up another salient point. I just want to mention that each brand will fit your head differently and don't buy based simply on name. Arai gives me migraines, while Shoei for me is the best fit. That said, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of proper fitment for YOUR head.

Anyone interested in doing Jennings GP in Feb???

There will be two of us, btw. But we'd come along in our own RV and trailer since our dogs would be coming with us. Just an FYI for you, Inferno.

Does anybody know anything about the Canadian Wheat Board? Experience in agriculture?

I don't understand how this got past the ethics review board or your committee. Your survey doesn't have an informed consent form attached (anonymous or not), and your target demographic is more than sketchy. Here, even undergraduate research in any discipline must pass the ethics review (I know...

This is your research for your MBA?! Where are you doing your degree? Phoenix Online?

    Cheap Helmet: Is It OK?

The most important thing about choosing a helmet it how it fits your head. Well, aside from whether or not it also meets or exceeds safety standards. I'd never buy a helmet online unless it was a brand I trusted, it wasn't expired overstock they're trying to sell off cheap (hmmm... GP Bikes...

    Turn2: anyone hear anything new?

I met him this past summer at Calabogie. He also has Josée as one of his instructors, who was also with Turn2. I liked her a lot. Great gal, no BS teaching style, tells you like it is.

Meh. Crashed twice. Once landed on my hip, the other time flat on my back.

Riding Jeans with CE armor and hip protection?

Food for thought: how often does someone land on their knees when they crash? Not too often. How often do they end up on their back and bum? Most of the time. Abrasion resistance is most important for those areas. Regardless of what those riding jeans are made of, they still lack abrasion...

Forgot to mention that one of the additional benefits of the DR is that replacement parts are cheap.

Yes, you do. They're making an assessment on whether or not you can pay them back based on how much you're currently paying out per month to various debts.

Need Help finding insurance very young rider any suggestions!?

Although the GS is an excellent beginner bike (kudos to you on your decision), I think you're probably reducing the number of potential insurers with it since I believe it's classified as a sport bike (my Ninja 500 was, so the GS would be too). If you picked up a small displacement cruiser...

    suzuki drz400s, opinions?

I think you'll love it. I had the little brother (DR200se) for a summer and it was a blast. Gutless, but fun. If you're worried about the height at all, reduce the preload. That's what I did with mine.

Canceling Insurance for a Year — What Happens?

I'll ask Primmum about this. This is exactly why I'm thinking of canceling my bike insurance when it comes due. I think I only put 400 street kms on the bike this year. Most of my riding was track. Seems silly to pay $1,000 to insure the bike when it doesn't see the street. Thanks everyone for...

She better be worth it lol

I'm assuming this guy's future wife met him knowing he was a rider. Then why change that? You already knew that about him. People do this when it comes to their partner's pets too. E.g., hating their partner's dog or whatever. If a guy wanted me to stop riding or wanted me to get rid of my dogs...

Canceling Insurance for a Year — What Happens?

I'm sure this has been asked before... if I don't renew my bike insurance for the next year, what will happen when I do get bike insurance again? Will they try to classify me as a new rider again to screw me over for higher rates?
