Do you need to do the four year dealie before getting certified by the PEO if you're an immigrant with previous qualifications? That could be seen as a pretty frikkin significant barrier if you move here in your middle age.
I think Gambit's right...but it's not the government doing it. I believe hospitals going on recruiting missions...and cities do as well.
Only reason I know that is because the hospital/town I grew up in needed a urologist and went on a recruiting mission. Eventually got a doctor from South...
Amen to this. Knew an "architect" from Jamaica who ******* for years about not being able to get work here because he wasn't certified. (I dont' even know if this is true! lol)
Let's face it..the standards are NOT the same everywhere.
And to be fair....a masters in engineering would make it...
Problem is...retail is diversified enough that going through comp. bureau wouldn't result in much.
Loblaws is the largest food distributor in North America. In a country that's 1/10th the size of the US. Yet it would be almost impossible to pin them with a price fixing suit.
That's a right hand...left hand thing. Right hand (immigration) prioritizes these people who have skilled backgrounds...then the left hand (Medical organizations like the OMA) prevent them from practicing.
It's messy.
The G20 and London riots prove that doesn't work. ;) All it does is justify the miscreancy the "right wing boogeyman" is trying to pin on you.
Face it kids. We're protesting to the generation that invented protesting. Those baby-boomers, who oh...by the way are running the country now...are...

But seriously...declines in Policing in Detroit are being influenced mostly by the fact that the town is bankrupt(or close to) and the population is the lowest level it's been in over 100 years.
I'd agree it's not going to go away....but I don't think we can argue that the problem has gotten worse over the recent hockey era.
Whether that is because of more dirty European players (as Grapes would have us believe), the fact that the problem has always existed and is just getting more...
CTVNews.ca Staff Sidney Crosby is experiencing "significant improvements" in his recovery from concussion and is expected to return to hockey at some point, but there is so far no timeline on that goal, his doctor said Wednesday.
Dr. Michael Collins, who has been treating the Pittsburg Penguins...
Have you driven one? They are actually a ton of fun. Incredibly nimble. Just HIDEOUSLY impractical as a primary vehicle. Too small...doubt you could carry a week's worth of groceries in the cargo area...
I can see people buying it for its gas mileage....then driving it around in turbo mode all...
Apparently global demand for the item was 3x the expectations. (Bought a Nissan recently...looked at this vehicle...way too small for my needs.) They can't even keep it in stock.
Which is different from ANY politician how? You'd think Ontario was flush with cash the way McGuinty is throwing it around pre-election. He's like a rapper at an after party for crying out loud.
Agree with the pointlessness of the study but for different reasons. A conservative government...
