    Riding with No Front Brakes

Yep, I picked up a new bike once and every single dealer-installed bolt on it was only done up finger tight. I lost my **** on them because I didnt notice until I had already ridden it 2 km back to my office. Went to put the the kickstand down and it felt like it was about to fall off.. then I...

    riding home with new tire

Never had a problem riding new tires. People tell you to be careful. Feels the same to me. I am not pretending I am valentino rossi on the way home though. Btw new tire question? I thought you were a longtime motorcycle pro :lmao:

Thoughts on The Misfit by Cleveland Cyclewerks

So, considering no one in this thread actually owns one, let me tell you about this bike: 1) The build quality is OK. It is not as well built in some areas as the CBR125, or the various small CC cruiser style bikes from yamaha/Kawi. The engine paint is is really thin, some of the electrical is...

Thoughts on The Misfit by Cleveland Cyclewerks

I already bought one last year and i like it a lot. Had 0 issues with it. Treat it like a 70s bike, because it is.

    Gas leaking out of carburetors

Whenever you use anything to fit 2 peices together, make sure its dry first... You go for a ride the same day you put silicon on your intake boots? That **** takes like 2 days to fully cure. You probably dont have to take the engine apart since the silicon should burn up by itself, but man, be a...

Thoughts on The Misfit by Cleveland Cyclewerks

Yep, its really likely your 35 cent cat food was made in the same factory by the same people as a 4500 dollar motorcycle. Youre saying to go buy a honda or yamaha when 30 years ago people were saying the same **** about them. People in china are capable of the exact same **** people anywhere...

The One Thing Im Having Trouble with

Shift down to 1st then back up into neutral. You are right, most bikes if you try to go from 2nd to neutral just by tapping the pedal down, it will lock you out and pop into 1st or 2nd again (after some grinding), but if you do it slowly and keep your foot on the shifter you can push it down...

Need a tune up, good place to go?

For your bike and location, Rosey Toes. Also, if the oil light is on, it means you have NO oil pressure on that bike. Do not ride it, you will ruin the engine. Check the oil level, if it is low, top it up and see if the light goes off.

    Valve Adjustment Problem

Are you sure you had the cam in the right position? If the cam isnt in the right position, the lobe will be pressing down on the valve, preventing you from getting a feeler in there. Generally what I do is just rotate the engine separately for each valve, that way I dont have to dick around with...

I forget the name of the shop, but there is a rad shop at the corner of Martin Grove/Rexdale blvd. They are pretty good, I had my tank sealed there.

Shoei rf1100 or suomy vandal or any other similarly priced helmets

The Vandal is generally a loud helmet. I have one, and its my favorite helmet I have ever owned, but noise doesnt bother me. The upside to being a loud helmet is that you can clearly hear things around you. Its also not loud at sub 60kmh speeds (so city riding), but above 60, it whistles really...

    Recovering from a false neutral..

Just give it another go, clutch in, shift up, clutch out. Its not that bad, it happens occasionally. You are right though, you need to be more aggressive with your shifting, this happens when you dont pull up hard enough on the shift lever (assuming the bike is in good working order). I would...

what are the minimum CC's for a road legal motorcycle

There is no minimum, but 50cc would be the "practical" minimum, and even that is pretty slow. MTO has no requirements though. If it was sold and able to be plated in the past, it can be plated today, especially with all the provisions for antique vehicles specifically written into the law.

    Teksavvy Internet Help Needed

It doesnt need to route traffic to have an IP address. The IP address of the modem serves as the local access point to the small web server its running. The web server is hosted on the modem to provide stats about the modem, and is separate to its function as a modem (other than basic controls...

    who needs an injection

People are going to do drugs, whether there is a safe place to do them or not. Since everyone in Ontario is guaranteed free health care, why would you not want to have a place where drug users can use drugs in a safer manner? Overall, this saves money, because rather than shooting up in alleys...

    In-line fuel filter placement (1969 CB350)

Old CB's dont like fuel filters. The fuel feed is so weak to start with, anything extra in the fuel system generally causes them to be starved for fuel at high RPMs. The solution is to either get some high flow fuel filters (which will cost you like 60 bucks a filter, but generally they are...

    Infamous Oil Debate

I used to use Rotella on all my bikes, but now that we have Royal Purple available at canadian tire, i've switched to that. Will still use rotella in my vintage bikes (non-synthetic).

Opinions on Sym Wolf and Cleveland Cycle Works Misfit?

There are lots of reviews on the Sym bikes. Theyre pretty terrible all around, dealer support is next to non-existent. I have one of the CCW misfits. I bought it because I got a pretty good deal, and I was looking for a small displacement, easy to work on bike. I like the classic styling way...

    Classified for bikes (different source?)

Post up a wanted Ad. Generally, I search and search and search, and then finally give up and put up a wanted ad. Within 2 weeks I have a new bike or car. I think I have only ever bought 1 vehicle by replying to an ad. All the other ones (like, 15+ at this point) were people reaching out to me.

I was told not to coast with the clutch pulled in and no throttle - why?

If you gun a 2 stroke at full throttle for a long time, its going to be really hot. Pulling in the clutch and letting it basically idle for long periods while its really hot has a chance to starve it of oil, depending on the bike and what kind of mix system its using (almost impossible with...
