Where do I find out what size motorcycle can be plated? and driven on the road in Ontario?
so.. if the 1978 CT70 has an ownership... and was previously plated and insured to ride in ontario... can I get it renewed today in a new owners name?
My Dad has a Z50 Honda with Plates and ownership in his name ... can it be transfered ,, and put back on the road with a plate? today....
where does the MTO spell that out..... I heard 125cc was the smallest..

Ysr 50 and 80's are legal for the road. Not sure I'd want to drive either but you can

There is no minimum, but 50cc would be the "practical" minimum, and even that is pretty slow. MTO has no requirements though. If it was sold and able to be plated in the past, it can be plated today, especially with all the provisions for antique vehicles specifically written into the law.

There is no minimum but there are two sub-categories, "moped" and "limited speed motorcycle". For a motorcycle to fit into either one of those categories, it has to originally have been manufactured and registered as such, and the registration plate (where the VIN is) and documents should state that.

AFAIK the Yamaha YSR50 is registered as a "full" motorcycle. It's not a moped because it doesn't have pedals, and I'm pretty sure that its original manufacturing date pre-dated the existence of the "limited speed motorcycle" classification.

The CT70 should be registered as a "full" motorcycle, too.

MANY years ago we had a CT70 licensed and a Bombardier 80 and a Honda QA50 (modified). Be preparred to be stopped on occasion by an officer that will want to know how you got it licensed and why its on the road.

I had a fully street legal Tomos scooter/moped (it didn't have pedals, so not really a moped). It had a 48cc 2-stroke engine and would go 60 km/hr on a good day. A kick in the pants to ride, but I got laughed at alot ;)

I am not a fan of those e-scooters, at least not the cheap Emmo ones. They're like little cockroaches scuttling down the road with their little wheels and training wheels sticking out the sides like antennae or something.
