Fastest way to get an M License

You'll find more restrictive licensing in Europe. Picture Jorge Lorenzo, Moto GP champion, being restricted to a 125cc bike, and then 47hp, before he could graduated to a full license. http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/03/08/manufacturers/yamaha/jorge-lorenzo-gets-his-motorcycle-license/

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

At least they're not in the situation in which a person I met ended up: he bought his Volt a bit more than a week before the incentive bumped up from $8000 to $14000. He tried really hard to get them to extend it to him, but no go.

Yes and no. Up here in Canada, you're in for a long wait because the numbers allocated by GM remain low. In ZEV credit states, especially California, dealerships get bigger allocations and some regularly have stock sitting. On top of that, GM's allocating 5000 for S. Korea this year. So...

From the Ontario Climate Change Action Plan: 2.2 Eliminate HST on zero emission vehicles Ontario will work with the federal government to explore ways to provide full-HST relief to purchasers of new battery electric vehicles, with the objective of introducing this relief by 2018...

On the Bolt, you can select one of the three (window defrost, upper, lower) or combine by pressing the desired buttons.

Shallow charges affect the battery chemistry less than full discharge/charge cycles. No need to "top it off" every night if you've used a few percent of the overall battery capacity, so it's something you might do out of personal choice. Where it ABC ("Always Be Charging") does make a...

I've DCFC'ed to 90% on my Bolt and it does slow down a lot in that last 20%. I don't remember the exact number but the charge rate was dropping close to L2 level in that last 10%.

Post your latest head shake moment

Wasn't me, but on another forum, a member posted that he was asked, "If you don't need a licence to drive/ride an e-bikes why do you need a licence for an electric vehicle?"

Volt and Bolt have thermal management based on glycol coolant. The Prius and Leaf use cabin air cooling.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Yes, the best way to describe charging is by kW supplied by the EVSE and the kWh gained by the car's battery; but I guess talking about distances is easier to use and digest. L2 charging is pretty linear and "gentle", compared to DCFC. I read on discussions where some were wondering if they...

Only Teslas with the higher amp chargers would get 30km from a 1/2 hour on L2. The rest of us will need an hour to get that much range (7kwh charging rate). But, L2 is definitely still useful when you're going to be parked for a bit. Last week, I had to be downtown throughout the day and was...

These are level 2 chargers, so they'd help if you're leaving the car parked for several hours. The really big step would be DC fast chargers, which are supposed to show up at the OnRoute stops.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Yes, that's what the total range looked like this past week. Medium commutes (30-40km) and I could hear and feel the HVAC running at a higher level for most of the drive.

It could also be that the Bolt's windshield has more surface area. It's defroster does clear a small spot near the vents fairly quickly, but that clear area is low from the driver's perspective. So maybe the performance of the system's not worse, but the dimensions and design of the windshield...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I've seen about a 50-60km range drop in this cold snap. Mine is outdoors at home and work and have finally seen battery conditioning show up on the battery use graph. The power consumption I was averaging in the cool weather before this week was close to 18 kwh per 100 km; this week it's about...

It doesn't even have to be walking distance, as I've seen (several times and the same ones) cars plugging in at the free charging at Veridian in Ajax and then another car comes by to pick up that EV driver. I suppose they're not driving too far and they're saving on buying and installing a L2...

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

A couple of months ago I had an incorrect charge, sent them an email disputing the charge, and the charge was reversed on the next billing cycle. The key info I sent them was that the bike plate they charged was a day I wasn't riding, and it was for my 50cc scooter.
