    I had heard that in China the idea when driving is that everyone else has to watch out for you - not you being sure it is safe to proceed. So if you want to pull out then you just do it and oncoming traffic would be prepared for it.

    Rode yesterday lunchtime to renew plates for cars and bike. Had to replace plate on wife's car and new ones start BYKR. Those should have been mine dammit !

    if I am the one turning right on red then I always wait for the left turn filter people - even if it is one lane into two. I don't trust the left turners not to drift across to the wrong lane

    Couple of weekends ago was out early passed a deer stood at side of road when riding river road. Short time later had family of deer cross in front of me while riding though Dunedin.

    In England you often see signs outside houses near football grounds saying " POLITE - No Parking". They are white text on blue background so at first glance seem official.

    Some insurance companies only go by size of bike and years of experience , others take licence level into account. you should call to check - who knows your rate may go down.

    On one of my first ever rides , Vstar 250 with Spitfire windscreen, I took a left turn far too wide - realised I was about to hit curb and grabbed front brake way too hard. Sudden stop had me hitting windscreen and breaking it . Had to dismantle at side of road while suffering questioning looks...

    Windows 10

    my son's computer lost all sound when upgrading to windows 10 - used option to step it back to 8 but it left some drivers behind that caused other issues. Sorted it all out by manually replacing drivers. will be waiting a few months before updating all the PC in the house
