    Boot Dilemma

Another vote for SMX Plus. Comfy, supportive, squeaky. If buying on closeout, just make sure you're getting the later (2011+) version with the Multi Link Control external stabilizer on the ankle.

    Too old to ride?

Suppose I could be this guy.....turning 57 this summer, but in no hurry to trade my GSX-R750 for anything else. For now, my body can handle the SS ergos....with plans to resume a weight-training/fitness regimen, I don't see why this can't continue on for a good number of years.

    Leg Protection: The forgotten limbs...

I wear these: Alpinestars A-10 Sport Leather/Textile. I crashed in these last July 1, banged up my right knee quite well. Had I been wearing jeans at the time, I doubt I'd be walking today. CE-rated knee and tibia protection.

    How rusted is rusted?

Would imagine that you would want to pay attention to the quality of oil you put in the crankcase of an oiler since it has a lot more to do than in a water-cooled bike; plus no extended drain intervals.

    How to winterize?

Probably a bit late now, since you've pulled the battery, but you might also have: - added an appropriate amount of fuel stabilizer (such as StaBil or Seafoam) and had it run through the fuel system - topped up the fuel tank to absolute max (discourages rust in tank)

    Purchasing Helmet in the states

So where is what I stated incorrect? I mentioned the tax/duty situation. You will always find instances where local retailers DO match or beat US prices, and I applaud and encourage them to do that. I don't know if our local retailers sometimes circumvent the normal distributors to offer the...

    Purchasing Helmet in the states

You can blame our middlemen for the large discrepancy. Motovan and Parts Canada seem to have a virtual lock on distribution rights here. I acknowledge that it might be difficult to match prices with US retailers due to volume and tax/duty inequities, but when the difference is 30%+, something...

No-one needs more than a 600/650 cc bike

Funny.....if there was no badging on the bike or colour differences, he couldn't tell the difference between a 600 and a 750......they are dimensionally identical, and weigh within 7 lbs of each other.

Local source for reprogramming Kawasaki ECU?

Jamie....any sign of Flash-Tune releasing their Suzuki stuff any time soon? Last time I checked, it was supposed to be late summer; then their main guy got hurt, and I haven't checked lately.

Winterizing new bike with low KM - Oil change?

No negative effects. There is some wisdom in doing an early oil change, much earlier than the manufacturer recommends (probably 1000 km for the first), to clear out any manufacturing debris.

    American Suzuki files for bankruptcy

Eclipsed this year by Rhys Millen in a Hyundai Genesis Coupe (9:46). Mind you, 2012 is the first running of the "all paved" course.
