A whole lot of music playing and practice. And I'm probably going to pick this mini bass up for television practice. I have an acoustic but I've never been really happy with the way it worked as practice in that environ. And it's just (rare and) cool!

It comes with both input (to input music into the preamp/amp) and a headphone jack. It's perfect for practice. Because of its size, it tunes an octave higher than a regular bass but plays and sounds otherwise pretty much like one.

My son is going through a small guitar phase...I'll be encouraging him considering I can't play a tune for the life of me.

He's got his kids' guitar, I've got my electric...may pick up a cheapo acoustic so I can practice with him.
 
I regret not sticking with music/guitar lessons when I was a kid...
I flirt with the idea of taking it up now that I'm retired, but I fear I won't live long enough to get good enough to jam with David Gilmore

Honestly I say go for it. If only to give it a whirl.

I have no grand visions of being any good at it...but to try it out, spend some time with the kid, and do something outside of work/kids/chores/cottage/maintenance/rinse and repeat...I figure why not.

Kids are getting older and my window to spend time with them is shrinking each passing day, so while they tolerate me and think I'm cool...I'm going on FBMP to look for an acoustic.

The indoor IPSC schedule will be filling out, so there will be lots of that :)
'Been shooting "mini-rifle" division lately and it's a hoot..!
'Nice days where its not absolutely freezing I'll still go shoot trap...
One winter project I want to do is build an ultra-lite .22 or .17HMR for gophers in the spring.
That's the fun stuff...
I think Mrs. Gaoler plans on us repainting the entire interior of the house.:(

Ukulele's are cheap and cheerful. Even though my good riding buddy who plays in a few bands and was a music teacher says I'm a "special needs music student" with "no natural sense of rhythm and possibly tone deaf" I still have fun with a few chords and my awesome hawaiian strum.
 
Ukulele’s are making a big comeback, portable and cheap . Lot of lesson classes popping up around here . And people won’t hate you like they might if you decide to learn bagpipes

As a guitar player, seeing a Mayones out in the wild is kinda crazy. I know the mini basses are not as expensive as the full size basses/guitars but damn. Still a pretty penny.

Iz Kamakawiwo'ole made it really popular again, for a while.

 
Maybe some more futzing with wood like this. Friends bought a cottage and the first thing I said was "you gotta get a sea flea". They so I made this model as a house warming gift. The pilot is a standard art store model but I had to take his legs apart and sand them down in order to have him in such a tight squat.

Speaking of clays... 'just ordered $10500 worth for my club... ***** gettin' spendy!
 
My club buys them by the shipping container full , no idea what that costs for a full can of clay birds . We were buying Olin industries ( Winchester ) birds but US and well …. We have moved to target birds made in Spain. There is a manufacturer about twenty five kms from my club but there is some odd history and we don’t do business. Predates me , but it’s a longe term dislike for each other .
