The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

That’s a great deal. At 140km it’s not halfway thru its useful life - I’ve met FJRs with 500km that never had a wrench on them (except maintenance services).

Its still not even half way thru its dependable life.
I think the listing is pretty honest too. Front tire which the pic clearly shows and abs isn’t functional and rear drive bolt stripped.

I might be concerned about the last time the shaft drive fluid was changed and you can fix the treads/drain plug. The abs could be a spendy fix or leave it as is.

I wonder if you could get it certified without the ABS if it was OEM?

I'm kind of looking at/for an FJR and there are a few from the years 05 & 06 that are really good deals with mileage from about 60K to 120K in the $3-5K price range, depending how far you want to go the see/get it. Same goes for the ST1300, but it I think they're about 100lbs heavier than the already heavy FJR.

True it isn't a motorcycle but other then a vaguely 60's batmobile vibe it is kinda cool.
Baller on a budget...

I'd love sell a handful of bikes to free up some of the money to park this on the flat roof of my garage, but then Olivia would see my new helipad as justification to skyrocket my property tax again :(

The stripped pumpkin can be fixed easily - helocoil, rubber plug or a used housing. All under $50 plus a couple of hrs.

The abs problem is typically gunk related. Road grime and moisture around the tone ring & sensors, sticky rear brake pedal pivot also throws a light. Cleaning them up takes an hour, almost always fixes the issue. . Worst case is a few hundred bucks for a used pump and abs module.
