What did you do in your garage today..?

How would you get this bolt out.

It's a metric 3mm Allen. Most likely stainless and it's stripped.
I tried a tox and an imperial equivalent or slightly bigger

Only think I can think of is take it to a shop to tac on a larger bolt head for better grip.

Also give it a squirt of WD40 or whatever antiseize/rust loosener.
I do this now for most bolts that haven't been touched for a while.

I haven't tried heat. Not sure you forgot about it.
Not sure if a Dremel cut off disk will help.

No room to get vice grips in there .

Not even needle-nosed vice grips? They would fit I'd think...

I'm with xrjoel - I'd also use a dremel to slice a bit off either end so the needle-nose vice grips have something to grab onto.

And like sburns suggested, I'd first soak it with PB Blaster (my go to anti-seize) or Sea Foam Deep Creep for at least an hour then heat with torch before attempting.

Sharp chisel and hammer. Cut into the left side and it should spin. When the chisel dent gets to the back, start a new one. Should only take a few minutes.

Bigger scale, here’s a stripped wheel nut I chiseled off my F’d 150 yesterday.

Finally finished my MiG welder cart this afternoon. Got the cabinet from Princess Auto on sale for $159 and got the 2” angle iron for the rest of it off a job, it was getting scrapped. First thing I’ve ever really welded and it looks pretty good once it was painted with Tremclad. Like the saying goes “a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t “

Needs to be M5-0.8 in stainless.
Short as my......

Screw in the picture 😂

Anyone got one? In the Mississauga/Milton area.

Would like it tomorrow as I'm leaving with bike on Sunday.

M5 8mm is pretty common. Any M5 cap screw will work - just file it to 8mm.

If you’re in an inch for the weekend, use a zinc or black oxide as a temporary fix till you find the stainless version.

I ended up finding one in a file of random screws.
A little on the long side and it has a 5 sided "allen key" which is less favorable in this application as is makes it more difficult to turn the allen key.

Ill make it work one way or another.
