2026 Olympics opening ceremonies

One of our better human endeavors. Missed the very beginning. At least I get a no commercials feed.
The stadium singing parts of Nessum Dorma was terrific. Andrea Boceli can still mesmerize.

I actually was at the field the first ever Olympics were held at. so i was told when visiting the site

Im confused as well.
All I remember was the disrespectful last supper portrayal and the weird kangaroo dancing lady from back in 2024.

I watched a "yes commercials" version on CBC, and boy was the timing of the commercials aggravating. It was like watching F1 on TSN
 
I guess you could try a VPN and watch on 9Now for mostly ad free.
 
In an international contest for wierdness , it was a winner. When I need an interpreter to tell me watch I'm watching , oy vey. The costume desiner for the Canadian parade team missed the footnote , they are atheletes , not background actors from a Dune remake.
 
In general VERY disappointed in CBC for dumping as many commercials as humanly possible at any opportunity. Look i get it, got to make money right. But holey cow they over do it.
I'm surprised they didn't sneak one in on the luge when they are half way down. 😆

We don't (unwillingly) spend enough ourselves financing their propaganda as it is?
