Cork or plastic top? Not that is would make a huge difference. Can you see liquid in the bottle? Hold it up to a light and look for any sediment. Even if it’s clear, it’s likely turned.Question for the group.
On a business trip to Germany circa mid 2000s I was gifted a bottle of Arthur Melsheimer Riesling-Sekt Favorit by a colleauge who was a relation and also named Melsheimer. He said it was the German equivalent of champagne. Almost lost it at the airport because I'd just tucked it into my briefcase.
Squeeze doesn't drink and I mostly drink beer with the occasional shot when offered so the bottle got stuffed above a cabinet for a "special occasion". It's been close to 20 years now I would think, a season finale and best time of 12.7 is going to have to suffice.
Is this bottle worth uncorking? Or is it something that should have been opened ages ago?
