Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

I'm guessing these (or less likely but also possible, the more expensive and more accurate bolt on tpms that macdoc uses).

In order for those to work, they would have to depress the valve core and crack open the internal sealing gasket. I would have more confidence in the valve core seat, than the seat of the likely Chinese made cap.

I agree. I don't use them. To be fair, the valve cores are also Chinese made crap.
 
Thumb test is notoriously inaccurate. On many bikes, getting a Guage on has you bending the valve stem and I don't like to put that many bending cycles on them as it can cause them to crack. I don't have a useful roadside repair for a cracked valve stem.
I think our last 5 bikes came with alloy 90 degree valve stems. If your bike doesn't have them I’d suggest changing to these for all tubeless motorcycle applications.
 
The other day I noticed my front sprocket nut was so loose, I could tighten it with my fingers. Who knows how long that was on for lol.

You can see the bottom of the plate matches the curve of the tire and it may have held the tire in that cocked positon. But still the rider should have noticed that the bike was dog tracking.

Holy hell, how can someone ride that long enough that the rear end had to be totally sloppy (to the point of touching the plate) and not notice that something was wrong to the point of basically getting ready to go again and only being noticed by someone else?

That's a special level of obliviousness there, IMHO.

I discovered I have a slow leak in my front tire a few weeks ago - I wasn't 30 feet down the road before I felt it was low, even before the TPMS light started blinking. Sure enough, 25psi.

Check tire pressure with a gauge or poking it with your finger? After a new set of tires is mounted, I will check with a gauge often until I trust they are holding

+1 for TPMS being great on a motorcycle.

There's the key word. If you tighten it to the right torque spec, but fail to grease the threads when called for, you still end up with not enough torque.

Take every post you see on social media with a grain of salt, most posts are created for engagement, not fact.

As for the real question, I check tire pressure, chain lube, and oil level before leaving home.
Agreed. Caliper also would have started grinding on the rotor as soon as it was out of alignment and I don't see a rotor in the photo.
 
Before every ride? **** no. I couldn't even imagine it.

Time to leave for work, got that meeting at 9, too bad I'm going to be late because I need to inspect the motorcycle I just rode 12 hours ago.

Time for my lunch break, it's only 30 minutes, but I'll spend the first few minutes before I ride to my sandwich spot.

After I eat, I'll spend a few more minutes checking the bike I just rode 20 minutes ago before I ride back to the office.

Ah, 5:00 is finally here. I'd like to leave early to beat the rush out of the parking lot because it's a long left turn up a busy street. Too bad I need to spend the next couple minutes checking the bike I rode 3 hours ago.

Gotta stop by Canadian Tire on the way home to pick up the 18mm spark plug bit for my current project. I was in Canadian Tire for 2 minutes, but I'll spend 3 minutes after that checking the bike I was just on.

Get home, walk the dog, time to go pick up some takeout. Guess what I have to do first?

That's right. I have to slit my wrists first, because my life is ******* misery from checking my motorcycle every time I ride it.

But I get it, some people are into masochism, if that's your fetish, good for you, but it seems like a terrible way to live your life to me.
