You can't contain something that is already here!
Now you have them screening people because they are traveling and potentially reintroducing them to a population that you have no idea about.

Look at the news, you might test negative and your wife might test positive like the P.M, now what are you going to do?
Triage is not a problem, the sick ones are going to be the ones that are down for the count and the rest become care givers at risk.
Eradicating the virus requires we all stay healthy and not continue to provide the nasty thing a great place to thrive and multiply,
and It probably lives in the lungs of living things because that is how it is killing people, but we really have no idea how well it travels, for all we know it might be carried on trade winds and has circled the globe several times by now!

Everybody stay healthy for a while
Whoooooosh.

That's why I said since my first reply it's all moot until you propose travel restrictions.

Wakey wakey buddy.

A recession usually means a buyer's market. People that have been prudent with their money and have cash savings will continue to be prudent and shop bargains. Bottom feeders will do well.

Insurance could soar. The insurers invest the premiums and if the investments tank they need higher premiums. It sucks but it's the story that has brought us to where we are.

This has been a massive corona instigated, tsunami like correction and the boat hasn't stopped rocking. The USA has yet to deal with the reality of COVID-19 so it's too early to party.

Hopefully there will be a steady upswing to the market but COVID is still out there and IMO not peaked in North America.

If a sales job is commission only it could be the worst job in the country. What is the commission on an average $10K new bike?

How many does a person have to sell in a week to make a living wage?
Get your cash ready for the deals in the off season/next year.

:devilish:

That article is using week-old data.

France now has 3600 cases instead of 1000. Germany now has 4000 cases instead of 800. Spain now has 6000 cases instead of 600.

Their projection of where cases would be today is off: France, Sweden, and the USA aren't quite as badly off as predicted, Spain is worse off than predicted. But ... In the exponential stage of growth, small actions make huge differences. Spain was in denial. (Still appears to be, to some extent.) The rest of the world, for the last few days, have clued in that we have to limit interaction between people and are starting to act. Hopefully, it's enough.

I thought of a hilarious joke regarding corona virus and cultures but this might not be the appropriate time

Cash will be king in the next several months since the ability to 'cash in' anything in bonds and stocks may be limited and econoimic suicide.

Watching reruns of Walking Dead for tips on survivalism.

Already imposing them, my sister-in-law was going to come and visit with a friend and then we all decided it was best not to.
As far as I am concerned we all potentially have it and I am assuming that includes me and the dog and very potentially the birds at the feeder right now.

imho Issue new health cards that require medical testing and tiny sample on hand for future study, and no you don't get to say no if you want your health care, get real.

Sorry to hear... I am also facing my own similar situation, but self employed. I work in the events industry and the past few days I have had clients calling me to cancel bookings happening in the next couple of weeks. Just waiting for the rest to call an cancel, I am expecting all my bookings to be cancelled through to end of April, then hoping this situation gets contained. One client mentioned this situation might take a whole year to recover from....I saw Dr Oz say the same thing on Jimmy Fallon last night, which would be terrible.
Yeah my wife went from a month of planned record revenues to having everybody but 2 clients cancel for the rest of the month.

Some snowbirds are being recalled by their insurance companies...telling them their coverage will end in "x" days. Kinda makes sense... snowbirds, older population, more at risk, more chances of falling ill so come back in order for us not to have to pay for you

The Ezra Ave gathering is a huge petrie dish.i hope they cancel it somehow.
Was this you wingboy? (In jest, you seem too smart for these shenanigans)

If we have any disposible cash left after sustaining ourselves through this pandemic.
Thankfully I have a solid job with seniority and salary. Bonus for this year is likely toast.

Worst case I break out the gold bars. ;)
