Yep, that was my decade! I had that wrecked 1981 RDLC that I used the engine for a new Cafe Racer, a 1982 Suzuki GS750E, a 1985 RZ350, a 1986 Honda NS400R and topped off with a 1990 US version RC30. (Which was a smog version of the 1988-89 VFR750R)
I owned several air cooled Yamaha RD350’s. My first was a café racer basket case that I finished putting together. I took another in on trade that I later sold to a 16 year old Peter Wilson as his first street bike. I think I’ve posted photos and the story of my RD350LC wreck that I stripped. I...
Sorry for being late to this party. I have driven and owned a lot of muscle, performance and sports cars in 55 years. I learned to drive in a hot rodded 1965 Corvair Corsa 180 Turbo. My very first car at 18 years young was a 1969 Chevelle SS 427cu. in. 425hp M22 four speed with 12 bolt posi. I...
In 1975 I was lusting after a Ruby Red Honda CB400F. I worked out several good deals at local shops however; I was always a little short on cash. I heard that Ontario Kawasaki was going to have an auction sale and decided that a leftover H1 would be better. Good thing for me the couple they sold...

We took our two oldest grandsons, (13 & 16) to this. It was their first ever motorcycle show. We haven’t been for 6 or 7 years. After over 4 decades of shows we were burned out. It was interesting seeing it thru the eyes of a couple of teenagers. They loved the MX show and seeing all the...
Not mine but... I did find my wife's first Monster for sale on-line back in 2016. An M600 Metallic that the new owner bought for his wife but for one reason or another he ended up riding it. He says the 600 motor developed a head/valve issue so he had installed a 750 in it's place. All the OEM...

My Brampton Cycle story is very similar but with a different ending.
Two of my racing buddies and I drove up to Brampton Cycle with cash in hand to buy three new motorcycles. My one friend and I both wanted the brand new Ducati 916. Our other friend...
One word, balaclava! I was full on Rock Star/Lumber Jack back in the day. Always wore, ( still wear) an under helmet balaclava to keep everything in place. Nothing worse than combing out wind whipped tangles. Plus, it help keeps your helmet’s interior clean and fresh.
Back in the day.
Yes, use ethanol free gas. Also have your local Ducati Dealer run the VIN to see what service/warranty work has been done. Your bike may have had the tank changed already. Draining the tank and stuffing cheese cloth in the open filler over the winter seems to help "dry out" water logged tanks.
