    Public Service Announcement "Wet Leaves"

Ah, maybe for some but others will ride when ever they can. I have ridden year round including a ritual New Years Day ride. Heck I bought my first bike in February.

    Public Service Announcement "Wet Leaves"

Wet leaves are a HUGE danger for all motorists but more so for bikers. I remember several times when I encountered wet leafs. As slick as a thin layer of mud over hardpack and just as unpredictable. Enjoy riding in the Fall and seeing the colours but be careful out there.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Yep, that was Lorna and Ian Tenniswood’s sad story due to another government screw up. They lost big in the end. There was a CTV W5 show on it and I think one of the US news shows like 60 Minutes did an episode as well. Owners of prized historic N.S. home in legal nightmare, thanks to local...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

The worst case (or best example if you prefer) of how badly the authorities can screw up is unfolding in Belleville court. It’s a case over the alleged theft of 208 Classic and Collectible Cars from Grogan Ford and later Grogan Classics. Six people have so far been changed but the true crime is...

    Daily sports car?

I agree, buy an existing, well set up race car. Or one already done up for stock class Auto X or slalom events if you want it street legal. You'll save time and money in the long run. As for track days vs. racing I left the Ducati Owners Club because some members (including executive) had spent...

    Help catch a theif

As I stated in a previous post, we did do things to try to prevent this from happening. In the end he was a con artist that knew how, (or was coached) to play on our good nature. He sucked us into his scheme. Hindsight is always 20-20. However, it’s at the very least inappropriate to blame the...

    Help catch a theif

My wife has been selling items on Facebook Marketplace for some time now. She has been very careful and when in doubt I have gone with her. She had a determined buyer who wanted this expensive ring. They agreed to meet at the Cobourg OPP station on Saturday July 19. The buyer said he was coming...

    Help catch a theif

At approx. 6:18 pm on the evening of Monday July 21, 2025 at the McDonalds parking lot at Highway #30 & #401 while about to show a ring to a potential buyer the individual reached into the car and grabbed the box containing the ring right out of my wife’s hands. He then ran off across the...

    Honda nostalgia

The very first “onboard” video of Tail of the Dragon I ever saw was at the January show about 30 years ago. They said the guy was riding an early, modified Goldwing. What a sight to watch and the sound that bike made even in mono. Anyone know the video I'm talking about? I bought a copy of that...

    Honda nostalgia

I have had a lot of motorcycles and wished I would have been able to keep most of them. The reality of it is that often something has to go to make room for something else. I also have no misconceptions as to what each of my motorcycles was and was not. I loved my little Kawi G4 TRD100 with its...

Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

I think our last 5 bikes came with alloy 90 degree valve stems. If your bike doesn't have them I’d suggest changing to these for all tubeless motorcycle applications.

Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

My guess is that the last person to adjust the chain or replace the rear tire didn’t torque the axle nut properly. After much riding with no regard for routine checks/maintenance the axle nut backed off and disappeared. The axle then started to walk its way out and once it cleared the right hand...

Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

If this has been posted before please tell me and I’ll remove this. I snipped this photo from another sight. I didn’t want to give the rider or poster anymore grief than they’ve got so far but… The poster explained that this was his fiancé’s bike. It just happened to be the one time he was...

    Yamaha RD 350

Yep, that was my decade! I had that wrecked 1981 RDLC that I used the engine for a new Cafe Racer, a 1982 Suzuki GS750E, a 1985 RZ350, a 1986 Honda NS400R and topped off with a 1990 US version RC30. (Which was a smog version of the 1988-89 VFR750R)

    Yamaha RD 350

I owned several air cooled Yamaha RD350’s. My first was a café racer basket case that I finished putting together. I took another in on trade that I later sold to a 16 year old Peter Wilson as his first street bike. I think I’ve posted photos and the story of my RD350LC wreck that I stripped. I...

    Daily sports car?

Oh it has a hood (roof) and it's water tight as we've driven it several huge storms.

    Daily sports car?

Sorry for being late to this party. I have driven and owned a lot of muscle, performance and sports cars in 55 years. I learned to drive in a hot rodded 1965 Corvair Corsa 180 Turbo. My very first car at 18 years young was a 1969 Chevelle SS 427cu. in. 425hp M22 four speed with 12 bolt posi. I...

Your First Motorcycle Was a ............?

In 1975 I was lusting after a Ruby Red Honda CB400F. I worked out several good deals at local shops however; I was always a little short on cash. I heard that Ontario Kawasaki was going to have an auction sale and decided that a leftover H1 would be better. Good thing for me the couple they sold...
