    New Rider waiting for spring

I feel your pain. I got my Ninja 500r late October. I had maybe three good days I could take it out. I got a taste, only to have to wait four months to get the full thing.

Well, this weekend I will be giving my bike an oil change and cleaning/lubing the chain. Very simple, but a good enough place to start.

    Basic Bike Maintenance to Know

Hello, I am new to riding and since the initial over-excitment of getting a new bike has warn down a little, I started thinking about maintenance. I am by no means a mechanic, but I do consider myself fairly handy and capeable of learning basic mechanical maintenance. What would be a few...

Where did you ride today? - New rider version

On Sunday I took my first long trip, well longest I have taken yet. I went from Barrie to Norland and back on my ninja 500. I came upon a group sport riders on may way back, but they all started doing 150-170 (10 or so of them) so I decided, being new, I didn't want to keep up. Then I came...

Bike Won't Start - Need advice

I bought my bike about four weeks ago and I know it needs a new battery. I could leave it on the trickle charger and it would be good for about two days, but near dead after that; it is a six year old battery, so it is expected. I have bump started it about five times now because the weather...

Last kick at the can ride -- Sunday, Nov 11

I just google mapped it and it turns out to get from Niagara to my house without taking the highway would be five hours. With an M1 I can't ride after dark, so I think I will have to sit out until next season and just ride around my area, heh. Would have loved to have gone.

    Last Minute NOOB RIDE

I'm just saying, that is something I learned in my MSF course. "If you think you are going to crash, lean for all you've got. You just might save yourself." I don't mean expert technique or anything, but just give it all you got and you may not crash. A 50/50 chance to crash is better than...

Last kick at the can ride -- Sunday, Nov 11

Will there be riding on the 400 series? I'd like to go, but M1 does have its limits.

    Last Minute NOOB RIDE

If you are riding a sport bike, move your butt off to the side of the seat in the direction you want to go (if you have time), stick out your knee on the same side and lean for all you got. Even the ninja 250's can handle the hard leans and more often than not, it will save you from crashing...

    How long can you last...

I neither have nor want a cell phone. I may get one to be me "home phone" when I get my own place, but until then, I'll use the good old land line.

I keep it in my leather jacket with zipper pockets. I think I will start to keep it in the little pouch under my seat.
