Planning a few rides over the next month to include the Frontenac, Calabogie, Algonquin, Haliburton and Muskoka areas. Curious if any of the good roads are under construction or maybe got especially beat up this past winter. Thanks!

Hey @Mad Mike how are the roads up there right now? I have a work thing that might take me up there for a night in a week or two and debating if I should ride up if I should go.

I'm still using it and love it. Several years I ago I spent $99 for a lifetime gold membership and it was such a great offer for such a feature reach program. I have a library of routes of my past trips saved in it and I can access them from anywhere, including my phone since it's web-based...

All my early longer rides learning the roads were done this way and I would use a ruler to figure out how many km to my next turn point and include that in my turn by turn list. So many small 'Y' intersections were never in the map books, so I always got lost and had to double back. A 6hr ride...

Thanks for the post and reminder! I’m down for a pancake breakfast one of these days and this could make for a good stop on a Calabogie ride for us paved roads folks.

Me too. It was good for a long ride where I'm not moving around much, but I also felt very disconnected from the feel of the ride if riding twisty roads.

Thanks! S. Lavant was one of the roads I was curious about since I didn't ride it last year. Everything else I was wondering about is mostly the faster moving roads (500 series hwys & 80km/hr backroads) as opposed to the twistier slower speed limit roads.

This is partly why I record long mixed sets of my favourite tunes. Non stop music for several hours at a time with no gaps between tracks.

How are the paved roads up that way looking? I have to head out a couple times in May to scout some roads for a longer ride that one of my buddies will do.

What time you guys heading there tonight? I'm down for some Gladiator.
