Riding along near Orangeville yesterday, I hit an oil slick without realizing it. On my next left curve, only doing about 50, tires lost traction mid-lean and the bike started to wobble. I applied some brake and straightened up the bike, fortunately managed to avoid a lowside/highside. Managed...

When I was brand new I dropped my bike at a standstill . Spent some time re-painting and fixing it up. Shortly afterward, dropped it again riding over some gravel. Had to re-do the work.
Luckily those repairs were cheap and I did all the work myself, so it wasn't too painful... but I...
Hey guys - would appreciate your opinions.
I'm in my 2nd season riding. Started on a Honda CBR 250R. Great beginner bike but it's time for me to think about moving up.
I'd call myself an intermediate rider: good with clutch control, shifting, engine braking, slow speed maneuvers, etc. (Still...
Yup - just to add to what Roasted said, my bike has something like this, but it's under the seat rather than by the footpeg:
Basically you loop the cable through the D-rings and hook both ends of the cable on to that little iron loop (it's not fully closed off) - then you close the seat on...
That looks like an awesome ride. Do you use a GPS mount or something for such a long route, or just have a good memory? I'd love to try a ride like that...
The CBR 250R is a very nice bike (I ride one) with lots of little features that you might appreciate if you're mainly a commuter. FI, fuel gauge, clock, optional ABS to name a few. Max speed depends on your size, but you can definitely do highway riding on it. I'm about 5'10/195 pounds, probably...
Check this out - this is a really helpful post I found a while back when researching stands for my CBR 250R: http://bit.ly/vgM1Cr
I also went from a Marauder to my current CBR 250R, so feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
Oh, and congrats on the new ride
This is a great little video, thought I'd share. It may have been posted before, but I just stumbled upon it while daydreaming of my ride today.
enjoy :-)

I was considering it, but when I called in to ask about it they said the upcoming session had been canceled because no one signed up. Guess it's not very popular. I asked the girl on the phone for details about it and it basically sounds like an intro to group riding, and a way to get a little...
I had a dream about this exact scenario last night! Except instead of a little girl and her mother it was Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. And instead of a car, I was in a bar. I barely had time to react and knew I had no choice but to hit one.
Just keep riding. My first few days riding I would forget all the time and end up with my turn signals on 5 minutes after a turn. The more you ride, the more you just get used to canceling and you'll start to do it as subconsciously as breathing.
