We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

That's where something like an FRT could bite you. I'd be shocked if you brain could process the weird sound fast enough to prevent the following shot.

I was lucky it did. Bang, bang, poof and the recoil didn’t feel right. Cleared the firing line at the range, disassembled the gun and knocked out the projectile with the range masters help. He told me to go buy a lottery ticket.

Where is a good place to buy ammo? I use to get some cheap surplus from Marstar ( I think that’s their name) in Montreal but that was a long, long time ago.
Firearms Outlet Canada usually have some decent deals and items in stock. They are in Ajax, and provide free shipping on orders over $500.00

Going to need to tweek the fit on the new to me Browning twenty guage . Im going to make the LOP the same as my seven two five and comb set the same so switching gun should be easier . Or not lol . I miss enough clay targets now , why do I put so much work into making it harder ?

40 minutes of gun creation porn at Westley Richards. The guns can be six figures but you can see why. Months of craftsman fitting, weeks of a craftsman finishing, months of a craftsman engraving.

There is a loud annoying embedded ad at ~11:00.

Westley Richards, Purdy, Holland & Holland now McKay-Brown and a handful of tiny workshops put out barely double digit production , you could be on a three yr waitlist. Its a whole other level. What surprised me was how many are used regularly , not just sitting is a vault.

Yeah... Those bespoke shotguns are on a whoe otha leval, but....its all relative.
To a guy who's only into clay sports and prerty serious about it.... it's an investment.
No different than a fancy set of custom golf clubs.

I suspect that the guns hold their value much much better than golf clubs. A set of custom clubs has to be one of the fastest depreciating things you can buy.

Well... No different in that people will "invest" in something they think they will enjoy or get the most out of... In a way amortizing the cost of over time/use.
Like if you spend big money on something, the more you use it the less expensive it gets. Big boy toy math.
I was okay with spending $7k on a shotgun... I get lots of use out of it and really... spending more probably isn't going to improve my scores... Lol.
In all of the rounds of trap I've shot I've only ever gone 25 straight ONCE. I get close lots, but lately the closest has been a 23...

The last gun my dad bought for himself was a franchi 20 ga o/u. I don't know if he ever shot it but it made him happy. He always wanted an o/u and couldn't afford it when he was younger. I may get my pal mostly to have possession of that one.

when I shot pidgeons/ grouse/chukars and all manner of birds , I was surprised how many 100k + guns would be out in a field. Canada not so much , krieghoff and parazzi at 30k ish sure , the Americans certainly spend more , for a few years they were buying up all variety of UK and Continental guns. Baretta is now making a 100k + gun, the SO , which was a surprise and there are some makers in Northern Spain doing double guns by hand for just silly money , but if thats your thing and you have cash like that , carry on.

Shooting sports are still somewhat accessible to the common folk here...
There are some countries where it's limited to the more shall we say "privileged" segment of society...
Those folks can afford the fancy-schmancy brands.

Here, on any given trip to the trap range you'll see the rich guy with his spendy gun shooting next to the workin' stiff with his $500 gun...

I like our situation better
