Bastards. I think they will all do something for EV's that currently don't pay road tax. The hybrid is a ball-buster. That article doesn't differentiate between plug-in hybrid and non-plugin. For many people with a non-plugin hybrid, that fee will wipe out their gas savings and they have paid more for a vehicle that saves them nothing.

nissan seems to be turning a corner,

they can actually make a good product when they want to. (the Nissans from the late 80s and 90s were real good)

after that, they seem to have lost their way with lackluster designs and products, I blame their managment.

I always thought they got a bad rap. Their cars aren't bad except for the CVTs and even those are ok if you change the fluid on them regularly.

The average commute return is 70 minutes for the GTA - 16 km each way. - even the weakest EV works weekly let alone the ranges coming out now.
You don't need daily charging, you barely need weekly charging.
Oslo has about the same commute time for 1.5 million people and arguably worse weather

Those mid nineties Maxima with V6 and manual transmission were a hoot and downright dependable. Ahhh the good old days!

I distinctly remember when the mid to late 80's Maxima was all the rage in Toronto. Chrome applique on the lower door panels and a gold crown tissue box cover in the back window. It was a good looking vehicle.

I changed about 2 L of CVT fluid out of my Jatco CVT on my Jeep Patriot FDII every year. Used my PELA extractor and a dipstick level gauge to refill. Pulled an 18ft bowrider every summer with it. Sold it 12 years/200K later and it still ran great.

I always thought they got a bad rap. Their cars aren't bad except for the CVTs and even those are ok if you change the fluid on them regularly.

Hmm that's a good idea. The 62TE in my van is at 120 000 km on its supposedly lifetime fill. No dipstick, no drain plug. I should see how much I can suck out from the top.

Not familiar with that trans but if you can measure fluid height and temp it can probably be done.

In his case, if you replace the same amount you extract, ypu are in a better position than you started even if you have no idea about proper fill level. You are at the same level but have at least some fresh fluid mixed in.
