2026 Rides

What a beauty of a day, and no smoke! I set out this morning headed for Prince Edward County. I took Lakeshore drive from Port hope by the lake. But I only made it as far as Brighton. The seat on the AT is just torture and I had to turn back as I was in too much pain for the rest of the trip. I really need to fix this!

Try the Honda low seat, was a big difference for me.

Although still not a 100% comfortable it does keep me going a few extra hrs

Rode 705 km yesterday with 2 buddies ... 1 guy showed us the Muskoka area and for the first time I rode around the Lake Rosseau area and that 518 is sweet!

From start to finish it was about 13 hours out and about ... never thought I could do it but on the R18 I felt no pain.

And I can remember giving @shanekingsley some flack for his looong rides but damn, don't hours on a bike go by at about a 50% rate (or less) to actual it seems?

It was a good test for a Gaspe trip coming up next month.

Long rides in a straight line kill me. Curvy roads on the other hand...

Enjoy the Gaspe trip - I loved that area and preferred it to Cabot Trail.

Hwy 198 thru Murdochville is a great road thru Gaspe.

Rode around from Minden through Haliburton yesterday and then over to Wilno. Was pretty hot out!

Anyone from this forum live here?

This is Redkenn Rd / Boice Bradley Rd, just outside the Haliburton Forest Preserve - recently topped up with fresh sand and graded:

@shanekingsley hey where is that first picture from? That looks wild!
Some where just outside Kawartha Lakes / Lindsay. The route I took is below as well as another pic from that spot. I rode past it and was like wtf did I just see? and then a few km up the road I still couldn't stop thinking about it and had to ride back to get a better look and read all the signs. If anything, they are committed!

Today I went for a ride with another forum member, starting in Toronto and heading toward the Haliburton/Bancroft area. The total distance was a little over 700 km, not too bad on the Multi, but apparently tiring on the STriple, from what I heard (I wonder why).

In the morning, we were three riders heading up to the northern part of the 507. Unfortunately, we got stuck behind traffic all the way from Flynn's Turn up to the 503.

Our next destination was lunch in Haliburton. We had a nice chat there, although in hindsight, a burger and fries might have been a bit too much just before heading toward Fort Irwin.

Our furthest point was Bancroft, which greeted us with a storm that lasted around 30 minutes. From there, it was a three-hour ride back home—of course, not before getting stuck in traffic on the 401 because of an accident.

Overall, it was a really nice day to be out riding. Riding with like-minded people makes even the more boring parts (the straights) a lot more enjoyable.
