E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

Cop in California chasing electric bike and giving him a ticket longer than your arm. Cop was funny.

Omg, imagine a cop following you around trash talking you over a loudspeaker?

Also, does anyone have any tips for how to install a loud speaker on the roof of my truck? Because now I really want everyone on the road around me to hear the **** I'm talking about them lol

That's existed for decades. Speaker goes under the hood. Mic inside the cab. Normally they were a combo PA/siren.

That sounds like a good start, but inevitably I know I would want a speaker so big that the louder I cuss, the more my headlights dim lol.

If you want to go full parking lot cowboy, cut circles in the rear wall of your truck so one side of subs is outside the cab and one inside. That turns your entire cab into a sub box and as a bonus dumps half the sound outside to annoy everybody else.

I suspect that is determined by jurisdiction. Ultimately, it may not really matter. You could stick the parents with the fines now or you could let the fines ride attached to the kid and they need to be paid before they ever get a license.

Is evading police a criminal charge in california? That one is likely a bigger issue and I can't see how that one could be pushed to the parents.

Different country but this might wipe off the pretty smile.

That seems reasonable. They had a documented history of warning her about his illegal activities and she didn't stop him. She is also obviously in need of the big hammer as she and her ******* son believe the laws shouldn't apply to them. Hit and run should be at the top of the pile for punishment as it is intentional, has life-threatening consequences and you are of low moral character so there is no reason to believe you will learn from your actions.

Ever been to a neighbourhood safety meeting? There are usually several mothers hyperventilating over their precious kid's safety.

You know who doesn't care an iota about the kid?

The other eight billion people on the planet and most of the animals.

The super moms are usually the worst drivers on the block.

It's a start. They should do something about the sale of these vehicles.
I've met numerous kids recently who've had ebike related injuries.

I see no way around this. These e-scooters and e-dirtbikes with essentially useless or non-existant pedals need to be classified for what they are: electric low speed motorcycles and be plated and licensed as such. The term e-bike needs to be reserved for actual bicycles with pedal assist, no throttle (unless for disability situations) and top out at 20 km/hr for the sake of pedestrian safety. Enforcement would have to high until people get the message. Retailers would have to held responsible for ensuring buyers have a license and insurance as they do now for cars and motorcycles

Wait til the larrikins get hold of these from Temu online

ER Doc friend says nearly every day they get a scooter crash , generally broken arm, dislocated shoulder , so fixable . I dont know who tracks the head / brain injuries but they get them occasionally to. This is bad now , but it’s going to get way worse before it gets better .

When Sue was admitted to Hamilton's neuro unit in 2017 with her brain injury,i heard the same thing. Two of the people in her room were e-bike brain injuries. But it was the cars fault.Fracture clinics are full of them.

I made an entire script for a video called "What's more dangerous, an ebike, or your ex girlfriend?"

It looked at statistical data to determine what was more likely, an ebike's battery, or scorned ex lover, to burn your house down.

My girl told me not to record it, she said people might find it mysoginistic. I told her I wasn't misoginistic, I don't even know how to spell that word. I'm just plain ignorant. Then I slapped her on the ass and asked her when she was starting dinner. Silly woman.

What I uncovered was that up until a couple hundred years ago, arson was historically known as the domain of women in much of the western world. That was their jam. They had the market cornered. But in the last hundred years the tables have turned and the niche is now just one more male dominated space. Sorry ladies.

Also, just to be clear, my girl is smarter than me, and better than me, even before the accident broke me. I just like ******* around.

Did you release said video or are you just going to leave us hanging with the results? Did you look at the percentage of people with an ebike vs the percentage with a scorned ex-lover? If you have three ebikes and three scorned ex-lovers, does the risk increase linearly with quantity of fiery things in your life?

In all seriousness, like EV's, ebike fires get disproportionate coverage and hand wringing. If I remember the stats correctly, EV's burn far less often than ICE vehicles when number of vehicles in the wild is considered. On the other hand, ebikes burn infinitely more often than bicycles and much more often than EV's as ebikes are mostly cheap crap and price is the most important factor in their design and manufacture. There are exceptions with well engineered examples, but they are the exception.

I think it’s less about frequency and more about severity. Lithium battery fires are notoriously difficult to extinguish and can reignite long after you think they’re out.
