Insurance is coming up

Just curious who everyone is using for their insurance needs? Mine is due and I am just over $10k/year for house, 3 cars, 1 boat and 1 bike - which I think is ridiculous. I am presently with the cooperators and will be going to get some quotes. Will probably use rates.ca for a good starting point and see what comes up.

I'm through Riders Plus, for the bikes only. they do everything else also.

I'm with RBC for the rest and will be looking around the next renewal just because. that's a motorhome / House / five cars and it's around 7g a yr

I use Mitch and got a policy with Wawanesa for my Kawi Z900...$1193 yr. My house and car are with Desjardin,.. house... $1213 yr. valued at $700K. The dreaded Focus is $1003 yr. This is the first time I`ve ever cracked a grand for car insurance. All policies are full coverage. Always makes me go WTF when my home is worth about 690 grand more than the bike and costs 20 bucks more, yeah I know all the stats and ins and outs and weasel insurance biz, but still. Is tied selling/bundling several policies legal? After Desjardin acquired State Farm they crucify anyone looking for motorcycle insurance, I moved the bike seeing that. SF used to have the best, by far, bike rates, I was with them for decades for everything.

My house insurance is $2,500
'23 Dodge Ram Long Horn $1,987
'24 Acura MDX $2,200
'23 Corolla that my kids drive $1,850
Boat and Bike $1,500

This is getting ridiculous - no claims and a clean driving record for everyone. That includes our Uni alumni discount and the little kicker my wife gets from work (Pharma).

I`m no claims and clean record too, forgot to mention it. Your numbers are wild, getting the horn like the flying Bison guy in Yellowstone.

For the number of vehicles and spend on insurance they should be giving you better pricing. I hope the costs you listed are not from a complete bundle from one ins company. Maybe you have to split some stuff up? Try CAA for car stuff, it was the best for me, and they do a deep dive on driving history to give you that rate.

Yikes! I’m 4 cars (2 on My Pace @$45/1000km), bike, 2 houses, atv and I’m a hair over $5k.

I’ve had a little trouble with speed lately, fortunately none of my vehicle insurers has run my abstract.

I believe it's tied to the risk. The risk of loss of life, injury is higher - hence the premium. Not saying whether it's right or wrong, just my general understanding.

CAA appears to give good rates for people with long history however when it comes for claims you will need to fight it real hard (that was my experience with a no fault accident with my car). I am with CAA (due to billing screwup) for car (until renewal) and home/bike with TD (meloche). 2024 NInja 500SE ~ 22$ increase to 1187/year from last year
