I like some of the vintage 50s to 70s stuff but as daily drivers they have next to no safety features. It is interesting watching prices rise and fall for various cars as they often peak when the car that was coveted in high school is bought by buyers entering retirement.

My budget for collectible stuff is maybe 0.1% of what I spend and gets me new tires for my bicycle. The big dollar stuff gets interesting with the value, insurance , tax concessions loops.
Older stuff is purely for museums. While a 1928 model A coupe with side mounts may look cute it's as practical as having a horse and buggy and they go cheap.
Also low on the price list are VW replicars, MG TDs etc. The donor car could have been worth more.
