If we are putting our boat in and they are in front of us we help them to get the line moving. If we are out and putting our stuff away it is nice entertainment after a nice day fishing.
When the Amphicar came out in the 1960s it was cheaper to buy VW that was better on land and a tinnie that was better on water. $4000 IIRC. The VW / boat combo left a few hundred in your pocket.
When I briefly lived as a kid in LongBranch a guy down the street had an Amphicar , he would show up at MarieCurtis park and blast down the launch ramp into the lake , completely freaked out the tourists . I thought it was the coolest thing I’d seen , maybe better than the bat mobile . Was a crap car and a worse boat , but still cool .

Marie Curtis Park was a good day's entertainment watching the novices. Haven't been there for a while.
One day a "Thurston Howell" type showed up to launch his trailer yacht, removing his socks, shoes and rolling up his his white yachting pants a few inches so he could help launch by standing on the gabion basket shelf the formed part of the bank.
Unfortunately the water level was such that there was nothing to stand on and he dropped in up to his neck. He never lost his cool stating, as he treaded water, "OK I've got the stern."
Predictions on marina gas pricing this season , it’s usually take the car pump price and add fifty cents . I’m guessing two forty / two sixty a L . Lot of yachts will be travelling less in Lake Ontario.

It depends on how long Trump's wars last and that depends on how long Trump needs a diversion from Epstein Island. Long lasting gas price hikes have in past times made boat shows look like aluminum forests with few gas burners on site.
Then the flock realizes how much one needs to really know about the exchange of inputs between water, wind and how to point the pointy end towards where you want to be.
Single digit top speeds are the norm except for cats and America's Cup wanabees with double digit millions for the boat and many times that for the campaign.
Going for really big power boats, I wonder how fuel prices will affect shipping from China.
The blow boats seem like a good idea when diesel is $2.95 L . We replace one sail every yr to remain in good shape, the cheapest one in the inventory is $3500 . Like fuel , they go up in cost every year.
