The club has come a long way since I was a member. I remember sporting clays went around the old barn that is now were the archery berm now sits, down the sidewalk past the skeet fields then north down the eastern bountry of the club with some nice targets thrown from two towers. There was an old guy there named Bill that would throw targets for you. That’s a lovely new gun , geez have they ever jumped in price , congrats . HGC was only a clays club , added an archery range last yr and has been talking about an indoor pistol range ( dreamland I think) , we have almost two hundred acres so space isn’t the problem . They are talking about a redo on the sporting clays course which is pretty good already. I’m a skeet guy ( and not particularly talented) but I do enjoy the options there . Yes I think we may be Canadas oldest clay club .

Wentworth is just down the road, BRRC, Brantford Tactical, and GaltWell, it was "on sale" so... 'Had to do it.
I think building a stand alone pistol range would be a waste of money these days.
There's are loads of established handgun ranges already and given the state of the law right now... There are/will be no new handgun shooters.

I hope if never happens , our one good point being shotgun only club we get a small jump up on not having scary black guns and hand guns around . For the few that know the difference.

The Bondi shooters used a shotgun.........would not put it past the LiberalsI wouldn't be surprised if Gary Anandasangaree didn't know the diff between a shotgun and a handgun...

I'm jealous, I could never get 9mm reloaded or hand loaded good enough to have my pistol accept them. Tried to play around with a few things but in the end I gave up on it. .223 REM is fun to reload though, but never tried shotgun shells. Not sure if the time investment was worth the savings you got, but then again, I used to buy flats for $67, and those days are long gone. Now that bow season is done, Christmas & New Years is complete what is everyone doing with their spare time?
This time of year I usually build a model or two (1/72 scale WW2 airplanes is my thing). I also do most of my re-loading (9mm, 308 and 12 Gauge) and re-fletch a batch or two of arrows - I keep everything set up on the bench so this does not take much time at all. I shoot at the indoor range (guns and compound bow), and every other week my wife and I do a couple of hours of virtual golf and then dinner afterwards. I have a fly in fishing trip to plan out and iron out a couple of things for our summer vacation, and before bed I read - I have a couple of books I need to crush before spring. That pretty much keeps me busy in the dark days of winter.
