Prediction for `26 bike insurance.....

.....with the discussion of the DoFo insurance thread, gotta` wonder. This year has been terrible for motorcycle fatalities and injuries. How long before the companies become even more punitive with rates ( bottom line matters obviously), and dog help us if the gov`t meddles even more in them..... Thoughts?

Riders dying is tragic but not a bad situation for insurance companies. The life-altering injuries are the ones they fear.

Every report, lots of them, with the rider taken to a trauma center or suffering life altering injuries is brutal. When I see or hear the Ornge medevac chopper coming out of my local regional airport every summer I say a quick prayer.
 
Some will see an increase.
Some will see a decrease.
Some will stay the same.

The year I turned 25 I was hoping for the mythical substantial decrease and it went up. I called and they said I had gone down relatively as if I hadn't turned 25, my rate would have gone up a lot (no claims or tickets just bend over).
 
Rates *might* go up in 2026. I would put money on them DEFINITELY going up in 2027, if you retain all the now optional accident benefits
