TV shows currently watching

Trolling Swedish noir with subtitles.

Very slow burn but a look at a different culture and very dark in some ways.....what lurks

Good reviews šŸæ

Looks very good
Taking a wild guess that the Guiness family did NOT approve. ;) šŸæ

But then I could be wrong....
AI Overview

Yes, the Guinness family has approved the Netflix series House of Guinness because a family member, Ivana Lowell, is the descendant who came up with the idea and was involved in its creation, giving the family's "seal of approval" for the show to tell their story.
 Joffrey from GoT !!!!

liking the series a lot
see why the family actually fostered it.. (y)
Damn well done series and the music is terrific too.

Went as far as I could with this series:

Around the 3rd or 4th season when Sarah Shahi left, the show turned into a gun blazing in every episode, and became tiring. Was a good concept in the beginning.

After watching Alien Nation the movie, moved into the series:

Good series, it still amazes me how they told stories so organically back then.
It's strange, they mention they are in the early 90's but the show was produced in 89. Not much of a difference not sure the reason for it. Also the uncle has a raptors jersey on, but they didn't form as a team until later. Weird.

Watched 1 more of the TV movies, but feeling a bit AN overload.

Moved onto Star Trek Strange new Worlds S3 - we'll see.

Good news this ...if you haven't seen the first two seasons you are missing out on a terrific series.....and based in really truly unbelievable facts  and it's funny (y)

Watching Dunkirk the movie and then WWII in Colour Dunkirk is a terrific double header.
Colour brings the war far more alive and immediacy to the screen.

Try this one again. Filming is very dark - better with vivid setting on. I did not pay attention on the first go around and lost the thread.
Very 'Stralian.

100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Might read the book too.

The more I watch the more impressed and engaged. damn 16 episodes…yay. šŸæ The Swedish sensibility shows up in odd places and the lead is gorgeous girl.

Yellow Bird brought the original Dragon Tattoo with subtitles with Noomi Rapace …by far the better choice for the series.
Think I need to chase that again to watch
Rapace is a brilliant actor …have seen her in a few films

I would say that, overall, "Strange New Worlds" is the best Trek since TOS.
I thoroughly enjoyed it until I hit the singing episode. I couldnt even finish it. I have thought about going back to it but was afraid there would be something else that put me off for good.

I think they learned their lesson with that one. There was no goof ball episodes, maybe one slightly with the holodeck, but they handled it much better.

What about Next Gen???

- also to add there was one episode in S3 which I swear they borrowed from Orville.
I would put it above Next Gen. "Orville" was the best (off-brand) Trek in years, until "Strange New Worlds" came along. Now it's close but I give SNW the nod there, if only because it's actual branded Trek.

There was also S1.E8, "The Elysian Kingdom", when it comes to silly stuff. Seems like every show needs a musical episode, these days.

There's a Muppet episode next season. A friend tells me that The Henson Company is actually involved.

For me it's TOS > TNG, > Lower Decks > SNW.

TNG, is what got me to watch ST, It's a bit of nostalgia, but there were many great stories and amazing characters. Plus it felt like a true squeal or improvement on the first series, which doesn't happen very often.

If I include Orville, it goes right after TNG.
LD I just found it to be very fun and creative way to tie into ST without being too stupid, like, umm STD

Was never really into DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise.

I put "Lower Decks" into its own category. If I was to have to slot it in with the rest then it would be between SNW and DS9. TOS would come after DS9. So...

TOS > SNW > DS9 > STTAS > LD > TNG > Voy > Ent > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Disco

ST: Ent was a wasted opportunity. They went into that stupid Temporal Cold War garbage, that never should have happened at all. Whoever came up with that crap should never be allowed to touch Trek again. They could have done The Romulan War. Then they could have spun over to the birth of the Federation. After that they could have skipped a couple of decades and done The Four Years War against the Klingons. They killed the Axanar fan films, which would have covered the Four Years War, but left that fertile ground to go fallow.

Anyone But You - I didn't know what Sydney Sweeney looked like before this movie but it's basically 1.5hrs of Sydney's (and other girls) boobs in various state of undress. Good rom-com if that's what you want.

She's a pretty generic Hollywood blonde, so that tracks.

nother step up in colorization so films from the time very immediate
Outstanding documentary with brilliant actual and true colourised footage never fully released until now, thanks to the release of war press archives and war time photographers.
It's maybe trying to stuff too much into the short series but the colourization is so immediate it's far better than anything I've seen....and a fair bit of stuff I have not seen. šŸæ
