I always thought "Size Matters"...

Or at least weight when it comes to throwing around a 500+ pound dual-sport in the dirt.

Well to all of us on this forum and any other forum, it does matter, but not to Toni Bou on the Honda CRF 1100L Africa Twin.

Simply beautiful to watch...

I shall now convince myself that I would be able to ride that bike 10 percent less effectively as the singular best trails rider to ever live. :ROFLMAO:

Impressive riding.

If you're in the top 1% or 2% in terms of skill level you can make anything look effortless.

Yeah, every brand has hired an ambassador that tricks... er, convinces potential buyers that the bike is capable of a level of performance that simply isn't attainable by 99% of its intended audience:

Yamaha has Pol Tarres.
KTM has Chris Birch
Back in the day, BMW had Christian Pfeiffer (RIP)

I follow a rider on social named Kirian Mirabet. He makes the Africa Twin look like a 300cc 2-stroke:

And then there's "the Beast from the East" Damon Bradshaw running some gnarly trails in Idaho on a 700 Tenere.

I'd hate to see a breakdown there. Its a long and tough way to push your bike back out.

Been there... (y)
The last bike I got hopelessly stuck was a cb450 on street tires. On a trail off elephant lake road with no cell service. After exhausting all good options, I had a rope so I laid the bike down and dragged it out from firmer ground. Mud was deep enough that after a bath, there was no damage.

In my case I made the mistake of listening to a riding friend who told me "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". That doesn't go well with me as I tend to over-maintain my vehicles. I never seem to have issues in any of my 2 or 4 wheeled vehicles and some are old.

Wasn't impressed with the master link clip. And sure enough, my chain came off on a single track trail and here I was thinking I was between gears as I twisted the throttle. Picked up the chain, found the master link and side plate. Pointless without the clip and you'd think it was way back from where my chain came off. Sh*t what do I do now...standing next to the CR 250 I look down and the clip was on the dirt track an inch from the tip of my boot. How the eff can it be there and not 100+ feet back. Talk about luck.

Tip: new spare masterlink in a zip-lock bag taped to my handlebar crossbrace.
