Well my insurance for my s40 is 66$/month and asked what a shadow 600 would be and I was told it would be extra 45$ so a total is 110$/month for the two of them fully covered
Because it's a horrible idea. If a bike doesn't have the nuts to pull you in top gear what is the point. Why? It's a reasonable answer. Higher hp available, no meaningful shortening of engine life, it is louder though.
You could make that argument for most bikes. Whack the throttle open in top gear on an average bike and it isn't in a great hurry. Drop two or three gears on the klr and it will give "fast" bikes in top gear a challenge for a few seconds. When the bike is good for 90% of your uses, changing your riding style to improve it for the remaining 10% is cheap and easy.Because it's a horrible idea. Yes exactly. Any bike that won't haul your *** in top gear needs to be replaced. You could make that argument for most bikes.
The problem is that you could get something like the old Honda V65 Magna or Yamaha VMax, and just leave it in second gear, but they're not meant to carry a passenger, unless you both weigh 150 lbs (68 kg). It's a similar issue with some of the sport touring bikes. I'm not sure if they've addressed it yet, with the more modern versions of cruisers & sport touring bikes.Yes exactly. 600, 800 ? Or 1100 intruder maybe ?
… buy one and you’ll never worry about what kind of chain lube to use ever again.I’ve said this before but if I was looking for good value in a used bike I’d be looking at an early 2000’s BMW RT, RS or K model. I can’t believe how cheap some of these are going for. Perfect for two up riding with their big torky low reviving motors. Usually well maintained and in good condition. These were premium bikes in their day and still a pleasure to ride. I’ve seen some very nice ones in the $2000- $5000 range. Mileage varies wildly on them from a few thousand km.garage queen to hundreds of thousands of km., a testament to their durability.
You'll just need to track down a tube of grossly overpriced molylube that will last the rest of your life.… buy one and you’ll never worry about what kind of chain lube to use ever again.
Why not rent a motorcycle for the day and see what suits the both of you.

Fun fact, the Honda moly lube used on ST’s and Gold Wings works just as good or better at a fraction of the price. I think it’s what most Bavarian Manure Wagon owners use.Who rents motorcycles anymore here?
Didn't those have a lot of brake problems in the electronics?

I use the Honda molylube. I bought it about 20 years ago and iirc it was $25 for a small tube. There will still be some left when I die.Fun fact, the Honda moly lube used on ST’s and Gold Wings works just as good or better at a fraction of the price.
