Can am canyon adventure trike

I dunno, it almost makes sense to me. The thing is most fire roads I picture in my mind have two tire tracks. So the rear wheel is going to be riding on the uneven middle section the whole time...

I see enough Spyders pass through the neighbourhood to know that Can-Am has sufficient customers, no doubt they'll sell these just fine

As we get older and our health and mobility deteriorates, we have two choices. Hit the couch, or move forward. This thing is a good idea.
As a guy who is looking at Burgman's in the hopes of 2 up touring again I get the point. Maybe it's good idea but the execution is horrid.
I would think your set up would be a much better off road performer than that thing.

"6.3 inches of ground clearance"

Over a wheelbase that long?

Nevermind off-roading, can I even ride drive it off the paved road and onto a sidewalk curb without bottoming out?
No.

Given all the nanny electronics I would expect you'd get hung up on a curb, and if a wheel spun or lost traction the poor thing would completely freak out.

Totally agree. The Ural with its reverse gear is far more suited to diverse terrain than the Can-Am.

I'd rather a Miata than the Can-Am or the Harley trike, but would rather a Ural than all 3.

Considering the riding demographic is getting older, and has disposable cash...I see no issue with it.

No different then the majority of pickup trucks, off road motorcycles, dual sport and adventure bikes...

How many actually go off the beaten path and explore?

5%? 10%? 25%?

Very few.

Just more options to go visit Tim's. If I couldn't ride due to health / injury, this would be on my list.

Three wheel tracks for off road isn’t ideal. The more I think about it, the more I’d prefer a quad.

I’m sure it will sell just fine and have a lot of happy owners. More options are better. Even when those options don’t appeal me.

So you laugh...but i went to this little place called north hatley on a weekend in Quebec (south of montreal).

Sat at a patio for about an hour and ive never seen this many canam's. They have a special/different license and course for them out there and with the whole bombardier being from quebec thing, they seem to support them pretty intently/intensely.

But then

Off-Pavement,

The folks of BRP stress that the 1,036-ish pound machine is not a real off-roader. If you take this to an off-road park, you will probably get stuck. Wait, scratch that. The engineer BRP had on hand was frank: “You will get stuck.”

"off road" actually means today's road conditions.
Pot holes, raised manholes, cracks, gaps and road snakes.

I like it. For gravel travellers it’s perfect. Where I’m staying 90% of the roads are unpaved, not suitable for cruisers or sport bikes. ADVs and dual sports - OK.

A lot of older riders have to stay on asphalt, this opens gravel travel to those folks. I’m not there yet… but the day will come for all of us.
